A hidden message, treachery, opposition, and a God-given success, will lead to an unlikely bounty. The scribe Sarah married Darius, and at times she feels as if she has married the Persian aristocracy too. But there is another thing she did not expect in her marriage - Sarah has grown to love her husband. She has wealth, property, honor, and power, yet securing her husband's love seems unattainable. And though Darius has been on numberless battlefields facing fierce enemies, he finds himself standing before Sarah with a fear he has never felt before - just because he wishes to express the truth to his wife.

I really enjoyed this story. It made me reflect on my character & consider how I can correct my shortfalls. I also feel this book is amazing for marital counseling & reflection.
Narrator is so great & makes the characters come alive... to the point that you can see the movie as it's being read to you.
I really enjoyed this sequel. It was well written, and while at times some behaviors seem odd they make sense in the context of the story itself. Darius's journey to The Lord is slow, characterized by his determination to avoid it, something I can relate to. It makes his slow and powerful change more compelling by the end.
I also love how flawed Darius and Sarah are, how they hurt each other and struggle to become a good husband and wife to each other.. And the narrator does an excellent job performing the characters and voicing their personalities.
Daughter of the One true King, Wife, mother, jewelry designer and addicted to audiobooks. The Bible and historical fiction are my favorites.
Tessa didn't disappoint, another masterpiece. She brought the story of Nehemiah to life in the most beautiful way, a story of love, faith and surrender to our loving Creator. I read in one day, I simply couldn't put it down.
Tessa Afahar brilliantly brings the Biblical account of Nehemiah to life in this epic love story of Sarah and Darius, Jewish scribe and Persian nobility. While the two are joined together as husband and wife by both happenstance and fate, bringing their souls together proves to be another matter, altogether.
Interwoven in the story of Sarah and Darius is the incredible account of Nehemiah's undertaking to rebuild the wall around his beloved Jerusalem. Add a murder plot against the king of Persia, a colorful cast of characters including an unconventional daughter of a noblemen who disguises herself as a man to help discover the identity of the conspirators, a caravan across the desert, and a test to earn forgiveness for an act of betrayal and you have the "Harvest of Gold."
Only God and Tessa Afshar could deliver such a treasure.
I did not like the narrator's male voices, they were not pleasant to my ears. The storyline was ok, but I felt that the writing was often sophomoric. It got better towards the end, but I almost gave up on it after the first few chapters.
I loved the narrator of this book. She made it feel as if I was watching a movie without the images. She mimicked the men's voices as well as she did the women's.
The story itself was very interesting and beautiful. when the author talked about God in the book, I found that I could relate and also felt the power of God even in the story because that's how it is in real life.
This book is more focused on clean romance than God but it was very well written and I enjoyed it tremendously.
Beautiful and well written story. I would have finished this book the first day I started, but I kept repeating several chapters 😊 I really enjoyed this book and the narrator did and excellent job.
I couldn't put this book down! such a lovely story based around bible true event and spiritually inspiring too. the narrator was so clever making the characters come alive.
