Publisher's summary

In Hardpressed, the highly anticipated second book of the Hacker series that began with Hardwired, Blake and Erica face threats that put both their love and their lives on the line.

Despite Blake Landon's controlling ways, the young and wealthy hacker finally won the trust of the woman he loved. Internet entrepreneur Erica Hathaway broke down the walls that kept her from opening her heart and her business to Blake.

Ready to start this new chapter in her life, Erica is determined not to let anything come between them, even if that means giving Blake back some of the control he craves in and out of the bedroom. But when demons from her past threaten their future, Erica makes a decision that could change their lives forever.

Don't do it!

What was the author thinking when she created Erica's character? Over my lifetime, I have read thousands of Romance novels. Erica by far is the dumbest Harvard graduate I've ever read about. Yes, Blake's character is not too much better. He is controlling but Erica is so dumb someone has to make good decisions that make sense. Lord knows she can't! Not only that, she was nasty, judgemental, hypocritical, and indecisive. Dumb! Dumber! Dumbest! The author tried to make her this strong character but Ms. Wild failed miserably. Her stupid decisions overtook her strength.
Also, it felt like the author dragging this book out unnecessarily. The controversy over the issue with Erica, Daniel and Blake could have been cleared up in two chapters max. Did it go on for most of the second half of the book? Really! I can honestly say that I don't care what happens with those stupid characters. Ms. Wild, sometimes less is best. I'm done with this series!

Disappointing second in series

There were several aspects of this book that I didn't care for. After a while the main character's refusal to talk to her boy friend and running away gets old. I wasn't into the dominance sexuality where the woman wants to be submissive in the bed room and be punished for her mistakes. She is otherwise too strong a woman to make this convincing. The final twist in the story was particularly unbelievable.

Erica and Blake continue....

I am a Team Wild girl and have been since the beginning. I have the books in hard copy, the Kindle or Nook version, and now the audio.

Erica and Blake are compelling characters. I have thoroughly enjoyed following the twists and turns of their time together. Hearing the story has been the icing on the cake. It's like hearing a hot remix of your favorite song on the radio-- the audio has turned something beloved and familiar into a completely fresh experience.

I love these books... I was told it was a must read, especially if I loved Fifty Shades trilogy, this was far better. In love with this series so far

Oh Erica....

After the first book I was really ready to start this second one. But in this book I kinda didn't like Erica through most of it. First, she's too needy, next she's too independent to ask for help and then she's all crazy. It wasn't until the end that she finally pulled herself together. I hope in the next one she's not as annoying or I just can't with her anymore. Overall the story was pretty good, but the ending for me was just too "let's wrap up this story in a bow and be done with it". The narrator is the same as the last book and she does such a wonderful job. I really like her and hope she does the next one as well!

Erica is one of the most naive main characters I've read and/or listened to in a long time..

outside of her complete and utter clueless-ness I love this series

Not impressed

I really didn't like this series. I bought and listened to the first two books. They were not great but I really don't like not finishing a series. I bought the third book and after an hour into it I just couldn't listen anymore. It was boring. I wouldn't recommend this series. Five books for one couple's story is just too much contrived boring drama.
