Publisher's summary

Half-vampire Catherine Crawfield is going after the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of these deadbeats is her father - the one responsible for ruining her mother's life. Then she's captured by Bones, a vampire bounty hunter, and is forced into an unlikely partnership.

In exchange for help finding her father, Cat agrees to train with the sexy night stalker until her battle reflexes are as sharp as his fangs. She's amazed she doesn't end up as his dinner…are there actually good vampires? Pretty soon, Bones will have her convinced that being half-dead doesn't have to be all bad. But before she can enjoy her status as kick-ass demon hunter, Cat and Bones are pursued by a group of killers. Now Cat will have to choose a side...and Bones is turning out to be as tempting as any man with a heartbeat.

Critic reviews

“Take one half-human/half-vampire female with serious anger and parental issues, add in a sexy ancient vampire with his own agenda, and you have the makings for a truly combustible series. Sign me up for the sequel!” (Romantic Times)

Good Story...

The story was good. It is very well written. I love my Audible account. I go through a lot of books. I love to read and there just doesn't seem like enough time to do that anymore, so I listen to books while I'm at work. I'm very much into the vampire craze (I know, I know... I can't help it though). I loved Twilight and the House of Night Series and I watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer when that was on (plus own the whole series on DVD) and now I watch TrueBlood. This book is great if you are into the Vampire thing, what I liked about this book was there was more edge to it like in TrueBlood. A little more adult then Twilight and House of Night. In reading other reviews on here people mentioned the accent of Bones. It does seem a little off for a British accent, but I think there is a reason it's a little off I think. I would just like to add why I think he sounds "weird". If paying attention, trying to to spoil anything here, Bones tells Cat his back story and you find he is not only English but also Australian. I think Narrator tried to combined the two accents into one. So where everyone was putting down the book because of this I just wanted to put what I thought about it out there for others to read. Cause even though his accent is not the best for being this big, strong, sexy vampire the story is still very good and I hope it doesn't discourage others from giving it a try. I did and I could put the not so great accent out of my mind and just focus on the story. I think it's a great book for those who like vampire that want a little more edge in the story then just vampires and fluffy romances!

Cat & Bones

I love this story. I am a fan of Charlaine Harris and listened to her compilations book. Jeaniene Frost was Featured. I fell in love with Cat & Bones, and wanted to listen to the beginning of their story. Jeaniene is now 1 of my favorites along with MaryJanice Davidson, Charlaine, J.R. Ward, and now I am beginning Lynsay Sands vampire series. I Love them all. Great read if you like vampire books.

I like it

I like the book/story and the audio recording of it. A lot of people hate the voice of Bones but I think it fits his personality perfectly. i don't like the voice of most other guys... and aside from a few they sound adolescent and screechy.
the story is good... I say smut with, surprisingly, a good plot. I would like to own a hardcopy.

Promising

The story was entertaining and fast moving. The main character was likable. The narration was tolerable. Overall, there was nothing extreme, but good enough to try a second book.
