NOTE: While listening to the series in order is recommended, it is not necessary. Each story is a standalone title featuring new primary characters with limited overlapping secondary characters.
Hailey Roberts has never had it easy. Despite the scars of a tragic childhood, she's made a life for herself. As a part-time student and loving nanny, she yearns for a family of her own and reluctant Austin Casey, Ethan Cooke Security's best close protection agent.
Hailey's past comes back to haunt her when her long-lost brother tracks her down, bringing his dangerous secrets with him. At an emotional crossroads, Hailey accepts a humanitarian opportunity that throws her together with Austin, taking her hundreds of miles from her troubles, or so she thinks.
What starts out as a dream come true quickly becomes a nightmare, as violence erupts on the island of Cozumel. Young women are disappearing, community members are dying - and the carnage links back to her brother.
As Austin struggles to keep Hailey's past from destroying her future, he's forced to make a decision that could turn her against him, or worse, cost them both their lives.

this is a story about a girl who's had a hard life she may be a little naïve and want to see the good in everyone but it's also a love story about how she's always been in love with this one person and how she feels like he doesn't know she exist she may be a little naïve at times but she will find out the hard way that people are not always what they seem are always what you want them to believe especially when it's family it's hard to believe the bad when you always want to believe the good it's a good read you'll love it
Good story line. Language and sex scenes could be toned down without negatively impacting the enjoyment of the reading. At times the narration was a bit over dramatic,
Not to make the heroine so helpless, clueless and down right stupid. It was painful while reading how dim she was time and time again.
The Narrator was great but the story sucked.
I enjoyed other books in this series. However, I am currently struggling to finish this installment. It's extremely difficult to read how naïve, gullible and clueless of the heroine. Her mental capacity is one of a 12-year-old. For someone who grew up as a foster child she lacks basic common sense. So, it was impossible to enjoy reading this story…I couldn’t!!!
I was beyond frustrated reading the naïve and clueless of Hailey. At one point I asked, can one person be that stupid. Her mental capacity to reason made it difficult to enjoy reading this story. It was by far my least favorite reading experience of all times.
