Nice start to good series
Ok, I will be brief. Don't yell no real spoilers here. Anita can raise the dead, kill vampires, and go at it like a porn star. The book and series is fun, sometimes a bit scary and feeds my paranormal mystery addiction. If you are offended by sex, just leave the room now. Anita has needs, big needs, she is not a wh*&^ but she has wh*&^% ish tendencies... she has to in order to live ( think human with light succubus issues)
I give it a four because it did not wow me, I am not hot to listen again ( I mean these books are pricey, I want to enjoy them a couple of times) I am glad I listened because the books build on one another and it is a nice long series, some are 4's a few fives one 3...
Prefer Kim as narrator Overall a good listen
Uhmmmm Who do I have to go all Anita Blake on to get the rest of the books on audio? I have all but one in my collection... Narcissus in chains... tell them to just give Kim what ever she wants and lets go... I want to be walking the highlands next year listening to the whole series again and I do not want anything left out

Narration kills this book
I have read the entire series 10 years ago and multiple times since. the narration is not great. No change in voice for different characters. The worst part is the awful music that takes you right out the story. This series gets continously better though so worth the read. I would say books 2-7 are the best. I want the music gone and a male voice actor because this female narrator can not change her voice at all.

Good story. not so enjoyable reader
I started rereading the Anita Blake series with this audiobook. I do have to agree with other listeners that the voice that was chosen was not necessarily the best for Anita or Jean-Claude. However the story was still good and I enjoyed remembering all the details. I won't be listening to another one though, especially if the same reader is doing it.

Sound effects

Finally, THE Vampire Story I Was Looking For
I’ve been listening to a lot of vampire stories lately for work, but still hadn’t gotten around to this classic. Glad, I finally did. I listened to a lot of duds to get here.

The executioner!
A fun fierce story that brings us into a new world of vampires and other monsters. I enjoyed this first book in the series and will check out others.
