It starts here
Anita is a content mid twenty vampire hunter and with the necromancer. She has her friends, works with the police, raises the dead for a man whose God is money until the queen of St. Louis vampires takes an interest in her and someone starts killing the local vampires. Anita is hired by the vampires to find the killer and I
John Claude is doing all he can to keep her out of the hands of the local head Vampire. It is an action, bloody filled story of necromancers, vampires, contract vampire hunters and were's. For adults due to the violence.

Love this narrator!
I read all the Anita Blake series before listening to the audio books. I disagree with all the previous posts where people are unhappy with the narrator. Kimberly Alexis IS Anita Blake. I have all the unabridged books for this series that she had done to date and I am so happy with all of her narration. I am anxiously awaiting Narcissus in Chains and the remainder of the books that she has yet to do. I simply cannot tolerate listening to Cynthia Holloway reading the series. Kimberly portrays Anita as she is meant to--A strong, independent woman. Any other narrator falls way short of Kimberly's amazing performance.
As for the book itself, this is one of my least favorite out of the series, and only because Anita is so against Jean Claude. (four stars for a least favorite will give you some clue as to how incredibly awesome this series is) The story is wonderful and inventive and I am a huge LKH fan!

Great book
Great book with excellent narration. Narrator did great using da variety of voices for the characters. I will definitely continue the series.

awesome
I started listening to audiobooks while i was at work and why not to start it off with Anita Blake? I read the books when i was younger and love it. Now listening to it on audio is more amazing Kimberly is amazing and really like her voice.
