This is the second book in the Montana Gallagher Series by MK McClintock, and I definitely feel like I got more out of it for having read Gallagher's Pride first. It was a lovely continuation for the original story and the "war" going on between the Gallagher's and the man who own's the neighboring ranch. The tension intensifies in this book resulting in dangerous and sometimes deadly consequences for the Gallagher family.
In each book you also have a specific Gallagher's romance. This book dealt with Gabriel and Isabelle. Isabelle has come to Montana with her brother to take on the local teaching position after the death of their parents. Gabriel marries Isabelle in order to meet the requirements in her father's will that will keep an aunt from taking the boy. The question is whether or not they will make the marriage a real marriage.
I loved the story, but I also loved the narration by Alan Philip Ormond. Not only is his voice lovely to listen to, but his different inflections for the different characters are great. He also had perfect pacing of the words in telling the story. Loved it!
I love books...I love storytelling. Audiobooks allow me to enjoy a great story while still being able to do my daily routine. Thanks Audible
I always enjoy a good audiobook. I started with book two. I'd like to go back and read books 1 and 3 on my own.
I'd like to get to know more about Eliza. She has spunk and I'd like to get to know her history and her adventure (which I believe/hope will be in the 3rd book).
No...not yet, but I'd like to. Mr. Ormond did a nice job with both female and young voices. He has a great "cowboy" voice as well.

I am a working woman in a man's world but it's ok because I really love being around men !! I've been happily married for 48 years!
I love the way that Gabriel respected his wife and treated here like a lady. He is the type of man all women want to have.
Gabriel is my favorite character. He is gentle and kind but has strong emotions and shows deep love for his family.
Gabriel's voice was so reassuring and sweet. He always had nice thoughts and sometimes even a little humerous.
This book comforted me thinking that even in the old days there were men who knew how to take care of their family and protect them.
I started with this book which is the 2nd in the series. Now I need to go back and hear book 1 and then move on to the rest of the books. This book did not "end." It left me anxious to hear the rest of the story.
---I received this book in return for an honest review.
Book two is even better than book one! How can this be? This audiobook is full of entertainment. The relationship between Gabriel and Isabel, though happening fast was sincere and beautiful. I have to say the relationship between Andrew and Gabriel made my heart melt. Gabriel took this five year old into his life and made Andrew come out of his shell. Love the scenes between them. I also love that even though Ethan and Brenna's story was book one, their characters are still major players in book two. So many times you lose the fluency and consistency as a series continue. Lots of suspense and unanswered questions has me starting book three immediately. I am entrenched in this family and how Eliza and Ramsey will play out, where is Nathan Hunter, what will happen with Elizabeth and her money...so much to resolve, so much has happened.
Again, the narration was amazing! Perfect for this series.
Another great story but I just can not say enough about the narrator. He makes everything come alive. His voice in the tender scenes is wonderful.
Yes! I've listened to all three and read the books. The stories are wonderful and the narrator does such a great job bringing the story to life in a new way.
I love the tender moments between Gabriel and Isabelle.
That would be a spoiler! All I can say is that one is sort of an action sequence that involves Gabriel helping Isabelle's younger brother. I just like how chivalrous the Gallagher men are.
There were two. One is when Gabriel asks Isabelle if she'll keep him. You have to listen to know what I mean. The other would a spoiler so I can't tell you but I cried.
Listening to Gallagher's Hope as an audio, gave it another level of intensity! I loved reading it, but listening to it, was very interesting and a delight! Also, the narrator, Alan Philip Ormond, really kept me interested until the end. He has the perfect voice for this novel!
I found this story filled with tenderness and passion. I loved the setting!
My favorite moment was when Isabelle arrived to Briarwood and met one handsome man named Gabriel, member of the Gallagher Family.
Excellent suspense filled with romance and intrigue!
Since, I love and recommend MK McClintock's books, I strongly recommend also her audio books, you won't be disappointed!
Rabid Listener/Reader and Shopper!
Narration - Alan Philip Ormond - Really Good! So glad he's continued narrating this series, because I really enjoy listening to him.
I Loved Ethan, but I think I loved Gabriel even more. This is the type of series that I really like. There are new MC's for this story, but we still get to enjoy the characters from the previous book and they continue to play an active role in the story.
So Gabriel meets Isabelle Rousseau, who fled New Orleans with her little brother Andrew, and came to Montana, hired as the new school teacher in town. Born in affluence, she and Andrew have just lost both their parents and are now destitute and just want a fresh start.
Gabriel Gallagher sees this beauty and her brother in the local diner and steps up to help her get settled in town. Even offering her the little cottage near the school for a place to live (which happens to be owned by the Gallagher family)
I loved Andrew and his relationship with his sister "Ibby" as he calls Isabelle, and the way Gabriel interacts with him is just - ach - So Swoon worthy! Really sweet! But from the get go, Isabelle gets bad news delivered from her past and Gabriel steps up to help her and her brother.
Isabelle is strong and loving, Gabriel is gentle and kind and the series is just getting better! We still don't have all the loose ends tied up yet, but Eliza's story is next so before you listen to this, you may as well get Gallagher's Choice cued up, because you'll want to get started on it right away!

Romance - the continued romance of Brenna and Ethan, The new romance of Isabelle and Gabriel.
Suspense - This kept me listening to all hours of the night.
Wonder - I had to know where the family went after this book, so off to book 3.
The fact that we had a romance story without all the X-rated story lines. That was a nice change for a book of this genre.
This was my second time listening to something read by Alan Philip Ormond. I loved his talent for doing the voices. Every character had their own unique voice.
Can't beat a real cowboy
There is one part of the book, where you will cry. The characters are so real, you feel their loss.

Norwegian in a English world!
Gallagher's Hope: Book Two of the Montana Gallagher Series is my first MK McClintock book, and maybe my last. MK McClintock has made a typical book number 2 book in Gallagher's Hope: Book Two of the Montana Gallagher Series and i am not sure i enjoyed it. So would my review be better if i read Gallagher's Pride: Gallagher Series, Book 1? Probably! I would maybe feel like i know Brenna Cameron and her story better, but this book kind of lost me in being so "number 2" that i could not enjoy it to the fullest!
Alan Philip Ormond is good. I find his voice work the best thing about this book to be honest! I love his voice filled with intonations, specially Brenna's voice! I found not watching my watch during the 7 hrs and 8 mins! Alan Philip Ormond really kept me interested until the end, and i am not sure it would be such a good experience without him!
