Homicide detective Angela Keen thrives on the city’s rough streets. But when she becomes the prize of all prizes in the dragon-shifter world, due to her “high-energy” status, she gets more than she bargained for. Kidnapped by Lothair of the Razorback clan, Angela barely survives captivity before managing to escape. Hurt and alone with nowhere to hide, she faces certain death when Lothair uses the trace energy she leaves in her wake to hunt her down. But before he can reach her, a mystery dragon-shifter intervenes and saves Angela’s life.
Now a guest of the Nightfury clan, Angela regains her strength as her rescuer, Rikar, the last living frost dragon, gradually breaks down her mistrust. Surrendering to her desire for Rikar, but still uncertain of her feelings, Angela goes against his wishes and agrees to be used as bait to lure Lothair into the open. As the battle commences, the true struggle comes from within: Will Angela return home to the life she loves, or forsake it all to be with Rikar?

Loved this series, the banter between the guys is great. There has been rumblings about its similarities between BDB, but let's face it when boys get together that's what they do. All these dragons have adorable characters.
This story dealt with a tricky subject with a lot of care , kick ass and serious come uppance. The narrator has done a wicked job, he's really improoved his Scottish accent for Forge. My only dissapointment is he didn't give Wick the awsome old London accent he gave him in book 1. Apparently he was found there back in the day. That said its killing me waiting for the next installment. There is going to be serious drama in the bad guy camp at the loss of such a powerful second.
When a new book in a series comes out I like to quickly listen to last book to fill in any gaps in my memory. I'd listen again since I'm beginning to really bond with the characters now.
Probably a cross between Thea Harrison's series and JR Ward's brotherhood. There's magic and shapeshifting alongside a tight group of males fighting evil.
Forge, the lonely and misunderstood dragon of the book. Mac is a close second, his character is a hoot ( can't wait for his turn ;)
When Forge was finally recognized as a good male.
This isn't a deep read, but when I listened to this book at work it kept a good deal of boredom at bay.
Much to much swearing for my tastes but story content wasn't bad. I won't buy another of these books. Some of you will like it I'm sure, it's just not my speed. The narration was excellent though.
I"m a audible addict. My eyes have gotten really bad so I really hadn't read much in the last 10 years until I discoverd books on CD and Audible. Now I'm a fiend. Other than audio books I enjoy my family, work and dabbling on the computer.
I can't wait for the third story. I enjoyed the book and the narrator immensely. Waiting for book number 3 to go audio...
I would recommend this audiobook to a friend it's a great book!
I am waiting to find out more about the other characters in the book. Really hoping for Book 3. Max and the Scottish Dragon especially.
Haven't listened to Benjamin L. Darcie's other performances but I look forward to doing so. Wow! He's a ten.
I laughed at times and I actually teared up at times.
Once again, Audible.com, Book 3? Hurry up. :)
I would rate this one of the best and looking forward to the next installment
Sherilyn Kenyon books they are very similar genre
He was excellent gave the story life
Hell yes! I loved the characters and the story line.
The original story line and characters.
He did a great good and kept me in the story.
Loved it. It made me want more.
Can't wait for the next one.
So I have been looking at these books for a while now and not knowing the author just passing them up, but a brought them because I was short on credits and they were cheap. I am so glad I did they are really good and can't wait for the next one. You kind of know who it is going to be about, but you still need to know what happens to the people you have got to know in the first two books. The dragons are so hot you wouldn't mind being there dinner, your still alive and happy as a clam. What more could you ask for.
There were too many fight scenes for my taste. It seemed liked they went on forever and then the story got lost when trying to tie the romantic leads together. Very disconnected in my opinion.
This one is good also, but I noticed that the voices of Venom and Wick have changed from the first book, need to be consistent.
