Enjoyed Mac & Sunny

Just finished the 4th book in the Mac & Sunny series. I enjoyed the winding road to find the "bad guy" sometimes more than one "bad guy" found! I really sat here waiting for Sunny to say to her Chihuahua to stop, no, don't bite Mac or any other person, other than the bad guy. Finally in this book and only when it tries to bite the little girl that almost drowned, does Sunny say not to bite. Come on, how are dogs to learn if owners don't train them? I know just a novel, but new owners read, if they don't see oh, I don't ignore this bad habit of my dog, or let the dog dominate the home I address it, like the character in my book. I am an owner of 2 Chihuahuas, so I know they can be trained!

Enjoyable

The fourth and last book of the series. Easy to listen to, good pace and well read.

Great Fun

This book is create fun with wonderful characters and an intriguing story. The narrator is one of the most outstanding ones ever. I have no idea how she is able to do all of those voices and none of them sounded like. The story is top-notch. I highly recommend it

Mispronunciation

I like the book and enjoy the reader’s performance for the most part.
But when I heard her pronounce the word “Roue”
as “ Rouie “ I just cracked up.
Carrington , you need to look up how to pronounce a word which is unfamiliar to you to avoid being seen as ignorant!

A little light in the detective work

I always enjoy Elizabeth Adler’s books for her descriptions of food, wine, fashion, etc. in places I’ve visited or would like to. Narrator was very good although I think she made Sonny (Sunny?) sound rather whiny. Other than the fact that there was little detective work required, I can’t object to much except one tiny thing. Every time I heard that ridiculous name “Cherry Pop,” I gagged. Still, I want to get on a plane and fly to Barcelona.

Well performed narration

Generally I have enjoyed this series with the twists and turns of the plots.The narrator Carrington MacDuffie is excellent in differentiating the characters and performance. However I must agree with other reviewers that the relationship between Mac and Sunny as the series progresses doesn’t play as a solid romance over the long term. As the stories through the books progress, she continually nags to change him from being a dedicated PI and whines when he answers the call, which she has known is his chosen profession from the outset. And finally her obnoxious dog isn’t a situation most men would tolerate. So other than a physical attraction, I don’t understand what keeps him interested in her, much less enough for marriage. In real life, I see divorce in their future. The other weakness in the storyline is her career. She owns her own PR business but never seems to be working yet flies to Europe for weeks on end. Ah the fantasy life.

This book was interesting from start to finish. I hated to pause. The narrator was great.
