Being a Navy SEAL is more than a career to Alan “Frisco” Francisco—it is his whole world. So when a bullet wound threatens his future in the Navy, he is determined to achieve a full recovery…all on his own. But his lovely neighbor, Mia Summerton, has other plans for him. She can’t mend his wounded body, but can she heal his heart?

This was my first Navy Seals book by Brockman. I enjoyed the romance, real-life depiction of the life of an abused and abandoned child and a man who was tough but willing to take on the responsibilities of love and parenting along with finding the ideal woman.
I do recommend this read.
I love books! Audiobooks take stories to the next level. I'm obsessed with Audible and will try to rate all of my books. Happy Listening! ;)
I enjoyed this short contemporary romance. I liked how the hero significantly evolved throughout the story. I liked how the romance developed. And the five year old nice was simply adorable!! I did feel there were holes in the story. What happened with the sister? Did the niece stay with him forever?
Narration: Lauren Fortgagng either has a very nasally voice or she was congested while she narrated this book. And that was kind of annoying. I also felt like she read too slow at times which made this book feel too long.
For me this book was ok. Would not buy it for a credit but if you find it on sale Then it's worth it.
Toward the top. It was a way better listen than some out there, but not the absolute best.
His bond with his neice. I LOVE how he adapted to her. It wasn't easy, but he did it and he came out better for doing it!
In the cabin when Tash couldn't sleep because it was too quiet and Frisco brought Mia into her bedroom and made them both listen to the sounds of nature. I also LOVED when they were shopping for Tasha's furniture and they sat on the pink princess couch that she wanted SO badly. Which made me laugh very hard at the scene when all his team members arrive at his place later in the book after his place got trashed!
Again, probably the part in the cabin. It just reminded me of comfort and contentment.
I really enjoyed the book. The narrator was good. The story was good. The characters had some depth.
I'd heard about Frisco in several of the Alpha Squad Seal's books, but his story is great! Take a tough SEAL who can take down any enemy, who also overcame an alcoholic father and difficult childhood and then take it all away from him leaving him feeling useless and desperate. He can barely walk, his sister's addictions have landed her in a jail or rehab situation and left him with her small daughter and a criminal that wants the money back that his sister took from him and call in the SEAL team. Add to that a beautiful neighbor that would be glad to help him, but his manly pride is pricked that he can't carry his own groceries up the stairs. Frisco finally figures out that being a man doesn't come from taking out terrorists, but from accepting what life deals you and making it work -that's what a true SEAL does. Action, love and recovery and a SEAL with a very PINK couch. Another great Brockman story!
A big tough but disabled Navy Seal gets the gentle help he doesnt know he needs from his lovely school teacher neighbor. I liked the humanism of this story, good read
Yes. The story and narrator were good.
Not as good as the Seal Team 16 series but ok.
Don't have one.
The story I would recommend, but just not in the audio format. The narrator almost put me to sleep.
Yes, the narrator was a different narrator and they put the book alive.
My favorite of the series, it has a lot of action and romance. Would recommend .
I was actually surprised how moving this story in the series was compared to the first two books. I really liked it and actually brought a tear to my eye in the end. Missed the narrator from the first two books, but this one was pretty good as well. I just like when the voices of the same characters stay the same. But this narrator did a good job.
Hello, my name is Teresa and I'm an addict.
So far, in this series, this book is the best one. I am looking forward to the next book. The characters are very life like, with their faults and all. This is a heartwarming story about moving on after losing your dreams and doing the best that you can.
