Publisher's summary

The fourth in Darynda Jones' fun and sexy New York Times bestselling paranormal series: "If you enjoy Evanovich's Stephanie Plum, you will certainly enjoy Charley Davidson!" —Suspense Magazine

Sometimes being the grim reaper really is that. Grim. And since Charley's last case went so awry, she has taken a couple months off to wallow in the wonders of self-pity. But when a woman shows up on her doorstep convinced someone is trying to kill her, Charley has to force herself to rise above. Or at least get dressed. She quickly realizes something is amiss when everyone the woman knows swears she's insane. The more they refute the woman's story, the more Charley believes it.

In the meantime, the sexy, sultry son of Satan, Reyes Farrow, has been cleared of all charges. He is out of prison and out of Charley's life, as per her wishes and several perfectly timed death threats. But his absence has put a serious crimp in her sex life. While there are other things to consider, like the fact that the city of Albuquerque has been taken hostage by an arsonist, Charley is having a difficult time staying away. Especially when it looks like Reyes may be involved.

In Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet, just when life was returning to normal, Charley is thrust back into the world of crime, punishment, and the devil in blue jeans.

Love this series

Love the series, love the narrator.

The Charlie Davidson mysteries/romance/urban fantasy series is fun and engaging. I can't wait to see what Darynda Jones has in store next.

This narrator is in my top 3 for audiobooks and I've listened to well over 100 books.

This book is non-stop

I enjoy this series but it almost seems as if the author trys to cram 7 different plots in a fairly small read. Don't get me wrong I had no problem keeping up with the twist in turns but my goodness poor Charley

Darynda Jones is Brilliant! Lorelei King the Best!

Where does Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Isn't the best of course, I've listened to A LOT of audiobooks. But it's one of my favorites. I have listened to the books of this series again just for the entertainment, and will listen to this book as well. It's a good story with some of the best "one liners" I've ever heard. Seriously, I still laugh when I think of some of the things Darynda Jones writes.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet?

Too many, In the beginning when Cookie and Charley are going though her home shopping channel purchases. Or when Charleys sister can't find her pants and wears a pair of Charleys only to find out later she was walking around in public with "EXIT ONLY" written across her bum. I can go on and on.

Which character – as performed by Lorelei King – was your favorite?

Charley.... And Cookie. The conversations between the two characters narrated by King has me laughing like a nut!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

I don't know, Maybe "Just because you're the grim reaper you don't have to be grim" That's cheesey, I know.

Any additional comments?

The story written is both interesting and full of twists and turns, action and drama. I like to think I'd like it in written form but Loreli King really is one of the reasons I adore these books so much. But like I mentioned earlier I have listened to each of the books in this series a couple times because they are so entertaining. I have gotten some really weird looks from people who see me laughing my butt off at apparently nothing that they can see or hear.

Fantastic ... as usual!

What did you love best about Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet?

There is no one thing to love best ... it is just all so fantastic. The protagonist is smart, sassy and sexy. The story is fast-paced and action-packed. The writing is smooth and witty. Darynda Jones is a master of her craft.

What about Lorelei King’s performance did you like?

The narration is very well done. Ms. King does a wonderful job of imbueing each of the characters she reads with their own personalities.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely I wanted to listen to this book in one sitting. Unfortunately I had to break it down into a two-day read.

Any additional comments?

If you've read the first three books in the series you won't be disappointed.

It Only Gets Better..

Where does Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I've listened to a lot of audio books. I have no way to rate the best but I'd say this book rates as one of the best.

What did you like best about this story?

I like the way Charley has evolved. Her snarkiness is about the same and she still has a knack for pissing people off but her heart is expanding and she is learning about forgiveness. She is also learning more about her powers as the grim reaper. Rock on Charley!

Have you listened to any of Lorelei King’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to her other performances and have never been dissatisfied. She has a great voice that never grates on your nerves and she performs each character well.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes. At the end of the book when her and her father begins to understand each other better and she finally begins to forgive him. Very touching.

Any additional comments?

This was a great book. I would recommend it to anybody that enjoys this type of book. But start at the beginning with book one so you can better understand Charley and what she has been through.
