Publisher's summary

Carter Ashton had always been close to the entire Davies family. Until he decided he wanted to bring his relationship with Reagan Davies out of the shadows. As tempers flare, Carter must stand his ground or lose the love of his life. But when an old family friend asks for help, Carter unknowingly brings danger to the doorstep of the woman he loves.

Reagan Davies has been hiding her relationship with Carter from her father and everyone else in Keeneston. It had just been a fun fling, until it became something much more in a very public way. And just when things couldn't possibly get any tougher for Reagan, she finds herself thrown into a dangerous game of life or death.

Now instead of worrying about an over-protective father, Carter and Reagan find themselves in a fight for their lives. The person pursuing them has everything to lose if Carter and Reagan make it out alive and will stop at nothing to hunt them down.

Forever Hunted

Carter & Rae have known each other all their lives. They have grown up together and are best friends. Now they both realize that they want so much more. Unlike Sienna and Ryan, there was never a battle of age and turning away, instead I think it was more of a slow simmer. Carter & Rae knew each other in and out, relied on one another, but didn't see the potential for more till it has already struck them. When they both end up running for their lives in unknown woods that instinct that they have with each other is key to getting them out. I love their dynamic, hes the calm to her storm, but shes the adrenaline to his quiet.

This book was such a great addition to the series. As Carter himself and Cy have pointed out Carter is the nice guy, and although he was raised with the Davis family as well as Ahmed & Mo, he hasn't been drilled with military tactics as the rest of them have been, but it doesn't mean he can't hold his own. People always say its the quiet ones you have to look out for, and with Carter that is all too true. I LOVE that Kathleen Brooks put Carter and Rae together, and in turn put him in Cy's cross-hairs, and Carter does not back down he stand for himself and Rae.

Rae like Riley has to deal with her over protective father. Instead of dealing with him head on she hides her relationship with Carter from him. Rae seems to have such a strong personality that I thought she would have dealt with Cy instead of hiding from him, but it makes for an interesting story.

Another great gem..

Listening to this book is an added bonus. I purchased the ebook when it was released and am just getting around to the audio version.

Regan and Carter made such an awesome couple. Then we had the added bonus of connecting with all of the Davies brothers and their shenanigans, Ahmed and the spawn which is always hysterical and we got to meet some of the gang from The Hollow.

The book is filled with love, gun battles, dog bites, pregnancies, and weddings. The best part of Kathleen’s books is that you will always laugh.

Another addition to the Bluegrass series. I realized with this particular story that there are so many little storylines it was not very standalone. Yes there are explanations throughout but I don't know if it was enough. I admit it is a delicate balance. Covering the already known information, telling the current story and weaving in foreshadowing to progress the storyline and the coming stories.

I liked how Ms. Brooks addressed one of the weakness in Reagan character, fear of her father. But the other really big one was lack of trust in Carter, that I felt was never really resolved. I think Carter could have been portrayed stronger and more decisive. He handles a huge responsibility with the horses. I was bothered by the lack of family balance between Carter's family, feelings and identity within the story. It seemed like it was all about Regean and her family issues. This is the first time that has been so prevalent. I was left uneasy, hence the 4 stars instead of 5.

Another great one for Kathleen Brooks

This was a great book, it had suspense, humor, and romance! However, this is number 9 in a series and the books should be read from the beginning.
