A gripping, fast-paced novel of romantic suspense from New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Dana Marton.
When wealthy American businessman Glenn Danning goes missing in Venezuela, investigator Miranda Soto volunteers to track him down. It's her first assignment for the Civilian Personnel Recovery Unit, but this mission is about more than salvaging the remnants of her shattered military career. Glenn was Miranda's best friend and first lover, and she'll do anything to save him from danger... especially since she just lost everything that mattered to her.
Glenn barely survived being kidnapped and tortured as a suspected spy, but the shock of seeing Miranda again gives him a new lease on life. Their still-simmering attraction grows hotter as the couple races through the treacherous jungle. Determined to reach safe ground, they must stay alive long enough to stop the terrifying enemy who still hunts Glenn. And even if they survive, Miranda's dark past could jeopardize their future together...

Sassy dialogue, humor, and a great reader are important to me.
first time for this author. Very well done with a good pace for a adventure romance.
Glenn sense of humor when being tortured and Miranda's quick sense of rescue ideas.
She has improved greatly over the years since I first herd on her male voices. She has always had a good female voice. She made this listen great as she knew the pace to keep the adventure fast moving.
I enjoy reading, listening and reviewing. I enjoy blogging. Doing what I enjoy giving feed back in hopes someone will try a new author.
One of the best, I love this story and the narration was outstanding
The monkey just have to love the monkey who kept things interesting
She bought the pages to life, it was almost like a movie. She brought thrills and excitement that you wouldn't have felt without the voice
Dana Marton has another hit on her hands, this is going to be a number one bestseller I feel sure.
Dana writes a compelling story of love lost, moving on just to come right back and hit you in the face with your first love. Both of her main characters are strong, they know what they want and will go after it. Neither can forget the other, when Miranda walks away from Glenn it is one of the hardiest things she will do. She moves on, joins the military, gets her degree, marries, and starts a family only to lose it all. She did some bad things, bad things happen to her but she moves on a shell of a person. Miranda takes a job to rescues civilians, when her past comes and slaps her in the face with her first love. She most go find him and bring him home.
Glenn is from a very wealthy family,he runs is family business, he is on vacation and comes up missing. He must go through some trying times. As he has to deal with being kidnapped, tortured and trying to escape he remembers the only person who meant the world to him, with her memory and his humor he can get through anything. She is the one thing that gives him the strength to go on, he doesn’t understand why since she broke his heart when she walked away. He can’t believe his eyes when he sees her, yep he must be losing his mind…
Dana knows how to put twist and turns into her story just when you think it is about to end, she turns it on you and gives you more. Dana is truly one talent author who will keep you spellbound until the end with her humor as she turns the story to one that will keep you smiling while she cuts you with her writing talent. Just when you think the story is over she gives you another twist that will bring tears to your eyes. This new plot is one tear jerker for sure, it will touch your heart and squeeze it tight with the love these to have and what they have to endure to find their way home. Dana has done her research and knows just how to hold your attention as she spins a story of hate, love, betrayal and so much more.
I just finished it and I would have to say this is the best one she has ever written. I am not a teary eye person but damn if this women didn't bring a tear to my eye at the end. What an ending...Dana knows what makes a hero, with gripping, thrilling and intene stories as she shows in Forced Disappearance. Dana Marton hero's are strong women with strong men who work together to bring justices while surviving through the toughest of times as she has shown in her soon to be released Forced Disappearance. This is one book that should be on everyone's to read list. This is one book you won't want to put down and you will want to reread again and again.
The narrator has a wonderful smooth voice that brings the book to life. She adds so much to this story with her many different voices that makes you want to listen to it all at one setting. I look forward to listening to more from her.
Great hero. Sarcastic enough to be believable. Heroine underwent so much during her lifetime that her responses, even to a man she loves, were understandable. Great ending!!!!
I wasn’t crazy about the torture Glenn went through but I liked when he finally managed to escape, with Winky the monkey as company, only to be recaptured again, along with Miranda this time. I was really hoping they would escape again before anymore torture took place. You’ll have to read the book yourself to find out if that happened. But I do wish someone would have killed Roberto and the Commander. Especially the latter. OMG! He was soooo cruel and evil.
I have to admit that what happened did so in Venezuela so that made the country look really bad and told me I’d never want to go there on vacation, even if the book is only fiction it was still scary.
It was rough going there for a while, for Glenn and Miranda but the ending was very, very good.
I liked Glenn’s brother, Tyler, but his mother was rather snobby, I just couldn’t like her or Cesar.
There was some swearing and the F-bomb was used 2 times. And the sex was explicit. So, if you don’t like swearing or sex in your books then you should pass on this.
As to the narration: Ms. Bean did a great job. She did the men’s voices great and her emotions were pretty good so I would definitely listen to her again.
