Dominant, crop-wielding men are all Kate dreams about, but how far is she willing to go?
Kate wants a man who will take charge - she just needs to find the right guy. Fortunately, her friend is throwing a kinky Halloween party with a guest list loaded with sexy, available men. That's where she meets Banner. Dark and intense, Banner's not just a dominant; he's a master looking for a slave. Kate isn't interested in something that extreme, but when he offers to help her find the perfect dom while training her to be a flawless submissive, she's glad to have a matchmaker and protector.
Banner knows they're not compatible, yet something about Kate is impossible to resist. Once he finds her the right dom, will he be able let her go?

The beginning of this book confused and annoyed me but about 1/2 though it changed (or I just got used to it) and then I enjoyed the book. Here we have a girl who thinks she wants a Dominant & kink so her friends have a party with the intention that she could meet a Dominant. She has no experience in the life style and the minute a Dom tells her what to do (in any way) she gets her panties in a bunch and freaks out saying she isn't a doormat and she can make her own decisions....WHAT??? This confused me a lot! How can she want a Dom if she obviously doesn't understand the concept at all! I understand if she was a little resistant, shy or had a hard time with some hard core stuff but she couldn't even deal with him telling her to wear specific clothes. How can you want a Dom but you can't be submissive....kind of an oxymoron if you ask me!
So that was my what "I didn't like", now what I did like was the idea of a girl curious about the lifestyle and a man who desperately wants her to be a "slave" but doesn't think she has it in her so he wants to help her get what she thinks she wants instead of trying to make her into what he wants her to be. I loved Banner! He was a sexy dominant man who knows what he wants and wants someone who wants it too (without being convinced into wanting it). His relationship with his family and friends was sweet and the way he treated Kate, I thought was great. Once Kate's bratty rebellious side starts to relax a little the story took off for me. The sex scenes were hot, the love story was sweet, the writing was good and the narration was good too! I will be continuing on to book 2. I'm hoping it's about Ambrose!!!
I don't know about this book. It's about a woman who wants a D/s relationship without anyone being truly submissive. It works out in the end but I would think a 27 year old woman would know more about what she really wants; especially if she is a counsler. Not sure if I will try #2.
This was an OK listen. It's difficult to believe that people who are supposedly adults and successful in their careers can be so emotionally immature but if you're willing to look beyond that this was an OK story although not one you're likely to listen to a second time.
