Publisher's summary

Chase Halloway's father is the president of Atlas, the drug dealing motorcycle gang that terrorizes most of our desert town.

My stepfather turns out to be a rival drug dealer, and I'm pretty sure he killed my mom two years ago.

I'm not supposed to fall in love with Chase. He's not supposed to know I even exist.

But when he finds me, he can't let go.

And when I find myself in his arms?

I hold tight.

I have to.

Because if I don't, I might just die. With or without him.

Love a good MC romance!

I received a copy of Finding Allie by Meli Raine for free in exchange for my honest review.

I love, love, love MC romance. This one is no different. Such an instantly steamy story between the main characters, Chase and Allie. I will be listening to part two very quickly. I can't wait to find out what happens next!

Cliffhanger

This individual title has since been combined into a box set, which is a better value than purchasing the titles individually. For Audible Escape members, they are only available individually. This ends on a cliffhanger & is part of a trilogy. At less than 4 hours, on it's own - it feels more like a novella/serial. 3rd person, but entirely from Allie's POV.

Finding Allie has a Romeo & Juliet / Cinderella feel to it. Allie is 18yo and just graduating from high school and very sheltered by her stepfather. Chase isn't much older and is in the local MC because his father is the President. Both want to get out of their small town and away from their families. While surrounded by violence and harsh circumstances, their love/relationship has an endearingly sweet quality to it.

Tanya Eby does a great job of voicing the innocent and somewhat lost Allie.

I'm looking forward to the next one.

Not what I expected, but in a good way

I won this in a giveaway and did not know what to expect. All I can say is Wow. My heart hurt for Allie and when Chase came into her life I thought she would be saved from her rotten step father. But I have to wait for the next in the series. The writing was great and the narrator did a wonderful job.

Chase And Allie

I didn't really care for this book.. I know this is a trilogy but I was having a difficult time getting through the first one so I couldn't see any reason to continue to the other two. I have read other Biker books and some were good and some were not so great this one falls in the latter side. The male narrators sounded like old men Tanya Eby was okay. I just was not that impressed with this one.

Great Start

Finding Allie has it all! It is a great love story, with some action and suspense. I was completely captivated from the start to the end I just could not stop listing. The chemistry between Chase and Allie is off the charts HOT! This is a cliffhanger and you will want to get book 2 right away. I received this book as a gift for an honest review.

Has great potential to be a good story

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. I thought the narrator did a great job. I found her voice to be pleasant. As for the story, I did enjoy it. It was fast paced, had some suspense to it and the characters...Chase and Allie are likable.

This was also a super fast listen. The narrator did a good job as a male voice too.

If you’ve listened to books by Meli Raine before, how does this one compare?

I have not, but I would be interested in listening to more.

What does Tanya Eby bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I think she adds some more complexity to the characters. She adds a voice to them and she helped me enjoy the characters more. I don't think I would have enjoyed the story if I had just read it...a lot of stuff happens that some is just not believable.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Mysterious twist on a Romeo and Juliet romance.

Any additional comments?

I liked the forbidden love aspect...sort of Romeo and Juliet. As for the additional characters Chase's dad and Jeff(Allies stepdad) I thought they were big jerks. Why are they so set on keeping them apart?? Why is Jeff such a jerk?

I thought that the main characters needed more dialogue and I'm not a big fan of insta-love, but I did enjoy it. I didn't quite feel 100% of their connection, but this is just the beginning. I also would have liked dual POV's. This ends in a cliffhanger and it did make me want to continue on with their story.

This is, but yet it isn't a MC book. You don't really get much of the club in this, but maybe in the next books. This has secrets and some are revealed, but I know there are still some more that will come out in the next books. I felt that some things were a bit far-fetched, but I will give the next book a chance.

Overall, Meli Raine has some potential has a writer and she did keep me entertained. I think if I would have read this instead of listened I might not like it as much. The narrator helped. Honestly it's a 3.75 read, but I gave it a 4 because the narrator was pleasant to listen too.

Conflicted

Overall I enjoyed the story...know that this is meant to be read/listened to as a series so it ends in a cliffhanger. The narrator did a great job and the story was well written. I only have one complaint and unfortunately it kind of ruined the audiobook for me. The main characters age. This book isn't under young adult but it might as well be. I understand that being 18 is of age but I'm into my thirties and it just rubbed me wrong. I continued to tell myself she was really 21 as that felt like a safer number. I'm not a prude by any means either but for whatever reason I just got hung up on this one detail. The book is still worth the credit and I still recommend it.

Good Listen, but a cliffhanger

I listened to this book for a book discussion, and went into it no expectations. Typically the MC genre of romance books is not my thing. I thought this book was well done, and really enjoyed Tanya Eby's performance. What I did not like about this book was the cliffhanger ending. My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it. The book came across as more young adult than new adult. I enjoyed some of the unexpected twists in this book.

Not quite plausible enough for me

I didn't care much for this story, or any of the characters. The whole thing seemed rather shallow and unrealistic. I found it hard to even imagine some of the scenes that took place. However, I can see the appeal to a YA audience. Young people would definitely relate to the characters more, and probably find the story exciting and suspenseful, if not altogether believable.

I listened to the audible version which made it a little more interesting.

4 Protective Star’s

In this book we meet Allie; she is a little naive, a lot sweet. She is under her stepfather’s thumb.
And all she wants to do is move to L.A. to be with her sister and maybe pursue acting. Only her stepfather won’t let her, so she takes it upon herself to stash the little bit of tip money she gets, in a very unique place.

We then meet Chase, this hunky dunky has the swagger you hear about. Chase is under his father’s thumb as well his father wants him to take over the MC when its time. Only Chase has dreams too and his involve L.A. oddly enough. He sets his sites on Allie the moment he sees her. Between the chemistry and his protective instincts he wants Allie to be his.

I loved the rant Allie had about men poor girl is so confused she doesn’t know how to deal with all her feelings and the attention she is getting.
Oh dang poor Allie.. Freaking “OUCH” that wipe out had to have hurt. I cringed just listening to it!!
Chase and Allie together just works, he is sweet and crass and she is innocent and sweet. They just fit.

“Don’t worry Allie; I’ll protect you, always.”

Oh you cliff-hangers I shake my hand at you!! Lol

I am no stranger to this narrator; I like her work so this book is not different. :)
