When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too - but on his own terms.

Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success - his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family - Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey’s secrets and explores her own dark desires.

This audiobook is intended for mature audiences.

Look for E L James’ passionate new love story, The Mister, coming April 16, 2019.

Look at first one as a comedy but it gets thrillin

Would you consider the audio edition of Fifty Shades of Grey to be better than the print version?

It works well with work I can type and listen at the same time.

The only reason I gave it a three star on story is you had to get past some of the strong sexual content to get to the story but 3/5ths through it all comes together.

If you’ve listened to books by E. L. James before, how does this one compare?

This first book is the beginning to some good reading. This one if you take it lightly and don't say "oh my gosh how horrible". It gets better and better and the second book is awesome. The first one is mostly drama and sex, but you just keep going don't give up on it, it only gets better. I laughed my self silly on the first one, just to think she would even think about such things, great book, a little strong and I can see if someone didn't read the WHOLE book how it would get a bad review. But to me it was a hoot.

What about Becca Battoe’s performance did you like?

Too funny, I loved it.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The last few chapters, it showed how if we love someone enough, we all should be willing to change out thought patterns to move a little closer to the one you love.

Any additional comments?

GREAT BOOK! Give it a chance the second one, you can't put down!

Heady combination

Conveying emotions is tricky business, Battoe did a fine job with her voice inflection.

Great Read

I don't read romantic satire, I find it cheesy, but felt compelled to read this with the reviews and impending movie. I was pleasantly surprised at the vividness and it turned out to be a great read.

A romantic story ?

The narrator was very convincing as Anna , very well done ! The story is more suitable for women than men. Thank You. Jack

Don't get tied up with this!

Body parts heave and breath hitches - in pretty much every sex scene. It is as though the author had a build-a-sex-scene app and used the same phrase over and over and over again. Perhaps it is meant to be a send up of the whole romance genre. The reading and style of the narration don't seem to suggest this. I don't believe I'll continue with the series.
