When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too - but on his own terms.

Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success - his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family - Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey’s secrets and explores her own dark desires.

This audiobook is intended for mature audiences.

Look for E L James’ passionate new love story, The Mister, coming April 16, 2019.

Don't listen to feminists

If you are a feminist, do not read this book. I'm my trying to be rude but you will not like it, I promise. If you are not (like me) you may enjoy the book. I thought it had a wonderful story line and was very interesting. It also gave a slight insight into BDSM. Enjoy!

Audiobook

The character Anastasia was ditzy and the author could have cut this book in half if he hadn't painted her as a ditzy character that kept repeating, doubting and saying the same thing. The emails being read were a bit annoying.

Narrator wasn't great...

After seeing the movie, I was dying to read the book (well, "listen" to it). I have listened to many audiobook, and never had an issue with a narrator - until now. She just isn't good. It was hard to get into the story as I found myself paying much more attention to the bad narration! Maybe you will have a different (better) experience than I, however, I will be avoiding this narrator in the future.
