When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too - but on his own terms.

Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success - his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family - Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey’s secrets and explores her own dark desires.

This audiobook is intended for mature audiences.

Look for E L James’ passionate new love story, The Mister, coming April 16, 2019.

Didn't want to quit listen!

The narrator was really good. The way she made each person have their own sound!

Surprised

I was actually very surprised at how much I liked this book! I was expecting to be grossed out because of how explicit I've heard it was but it really wasn't like that at all. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the story turns out in the second book. pleasantly surprised!

50 Shades of Awsome

What made the experience of listening to Fifty Shades of Grey the most enjoyable?

This is such a great hot read, with a great love story, and hot sex...if anyone likes a good erotica audio book, with a touch of Grey in the bedroom, then this book is for you..Becca did an excellent job of narrating . I loved all the character voices, she did, which always makes a story so great. And 50 Shades is a great story..There so much more then a sex, and bdsm involved., that just makes it a Hot and naughty read. .all your emotions will surface with this book.

What does Becca Battoe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

There could not be a better person narrating this story. It would not work. Becca was great
Unless , you added a males voice like in some books I have listened too..those are great

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved it when Christian, went to Anastasia s work ( hardware store ) to buy things he would need, and she had no idea...He really wanted.to see her, and of coarse he is fighting it along.the way.

Any additional comments?

Everyone should read or listen to 50 Shades at least once....You will never forget Christian and Anastasia..wish his side would be published...

Good story poor narration.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I had read this book prior to listening to it. It was nice to hear it.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrators voice for Christian is awful and distracts from the story.

Any additional comments?

Good story, poor narration.

Addictive

What did you like best about Fifty Shades of Grey? What did you like least?

My husband and I both listened to the audio version and it set the mood for some romantic evenings.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Anna because she is funny, intelligent, willing to try new things, and can hold her own in an argument with a domineering man.

What three words best describe Becca Battoe’s voice?

versatile, soothing,

Do you think Fifty Shades of Grey needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

already has one and I'm glad. I'll let you know if the 3rd in the series needs one after we finish it.

Any additional comments?

Although the writing isn't the most professional style, the story line and the graphic descriptions of the sexual encounters have drawn me back to the book each day. It has helped respark our marriage and is a much better investment than seeing a marriage counselor!

Not as good as the movie

The movie follows pretty closely to the book. I got frustrated with her petulant attitude but still pretty good

Valley Girl much?

I just can't handle the narrator's manner of annunciating in valley girl. I feel like I'm getting dumber by the syllable.

Beyond disappointed

I watched the movies first, thought the book would be better. I was so wrong. The author feels the need to tell us at least once every written how unbelievable it is the Mr. Grey finds Anna attractive, that he is with her that he chose her. I am trying to power thru the book but I had to stop listening about 7 hours in. I am not a writer and thus probably not qualified to comment, however as a reader, why do I need to know the date and time of every text and email correspondence and why the signature on each of the emails. As if im not sure who is emailing who, or where they work. Considering that this series has been made into movies I am surprised a better voice actor wasn’t chosen to read this publication. Over all I am disappointed. I want to return it so that I can chose a different series to start.
