Erotic, amusing, and deeply moving, the Fifty Shades Trilogy is a tale that will obsess you, possess you, and stay with you forever.
When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.
Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of his success—multinational businesses, vast wealth, a loving family—Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey’s secrets and explores her own dark desires.

Long commutes=LOTS of listening. Thanks Audbile!
Sensual and Exquisite
Christian- Very sexy character
Despite all the negative reviews as a the reader, I thought she was wonderful. She sounds young and as I would expect Ana to be.
Holy Cow havn't we had enough books about un-healthy relationships being idolized. The fact that women feel liberated by these stories breaks my heart :( YOU DESERVE TO BE LOVED AND SHOWN LOVE WITHOUT PAIN OR CONTROL!!!!
Great story - hard to get enough of it! I can't understand why so many people complained about the narrator - I thought she was great! I just bought the second book in this series and they changed the narrator - WEIRD! I wish they'd go back to the original.
This story was addicting... I can't wait to start the next book!
YES! Narration of the emails ! ANNOYING and wrong based on any email I've ever seen in my life! Has the author ever seen one???
appropriate, young, innocent
Don't really care
I disagree with many's opinion that narrator sounded too young. She is! and innocent, voice appropriate.
Life-long book lover. Generally cop fiction is my favorite but I've been delving into nonfiction a bit and am really enjoying it.
I would recommend reading the BOOK to a friend, but not the audio version. The narration is terrible. Wish I could get my credit back.
The new narration is terrible! Why the change?!
Her voice for Grey is so awful! Hard to listen to! Her Ana voice is so not as sexy as the first!
I can't say I have even got to chapter 3! I have heard great things about this book, but this narrator is killing me! I think my 11 year old could do a better job! Did she know someone to get the job? I am going to keep listening to it only because I paid for it and I do want to hear the story....just hoping I can get through her Valley Girl talk and fake guy voices.
Let's not pretend that this is fine literature. It's a fun, smutty diversion, but it is that.
Different reader would have helped!
Battoe made the lead character sound like a vapid Valley Girl. And when she changed her voice for different characters, she was simply ridiculous -- like the local librarian who puts on a silly voice to read the part of "Mr. Toad" to local children. She makes one of the characters, who happens to have a Latino surname, sound like Speedy Gonzales. But it is her performance of the lead character that is the most egregious. Absolutely appalling. So inappropriate for the character that she takes you out of the story completely.
Somebody MUST rerecord this! And, here's an idea: why not have an actual man read the men's quotes, so that it is slightly less ridiculous?
She sounded like a very young, tipsy Valley Girl. Not the right choice for 50 Shades. In fact very bad choice. Detracted from the story.
Will not download rest of the trilogy w/ this narrator.
I have to say, I agree with the other reviews. This is a BAD LISTEN!
I am not on to like snarky reviews. Picking out small details that really don't define the overall audio expreience. "Fifty Shades," is a big fail.
I have listened to audio books for well over 10 years and this is one if the worst in all of that time.
It is odd to think that this is a huge pop-culture book and for those of us who are audiophiles are left wondering....
What's all the fuss about?
Certainly, not the audiobook!
