Fifty Shades of what Women Want...IMO

What made the experience of listening to Fifty Shades of Grey the most enjoyable?

The story - I personally love the reference to Anna's sub-conscious characters - as I often feel that I have several versions of myself as well. We all have thoughts we don't always act on and this story is relatable because of Anna and her indecision and the versions of her and what they each wanted at different times.

What did you like best about this story?

Christian and Anna together. I am in love with them and watching them fall in love slowly peeling back the layers of Christians armor was delightful.

Anna

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me happy at times due to the sweet love you see growing. It is also HOT and STEAMY so that was a good feeling ;)

Any additional comments?

I've listened to it so many times it never gets old but I do see more depth to it as I listen repeatedly. Don't listen to the negative reviews. It is not BDSM focused at all. Just a little kink and a lot of sex and a growing love story with very likeable characters.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No! The writing was bad enough, but this narrator made it 10 times worse!! If I were to continue with this series, I would read it myself to avoid the annoyance of the narrator.

How could the performance have been better?

The narrator made the main character so whiny and unintelligent sounding! She made the men sound ridiculous also! I've never heard such an annoying voice. It made the story unbearable. If I have to hear "oh my", "double crap", or "holy shit" one more time I won't be able to stand it. That's the author's fault, but the narrator made it that much more annoying to listen to!

kinky but enjoyable

A good listen if you ask me, there is some kinky stuff in it but overall it made me laugh more so I quite enjoyed this book.

Would you consider the audio edition of Fifty Shades of Grey to be better than the print version?

Yes! I feel like it wasn't as "intense" or "scandalous" as people said it would be. It just feels like a girlfriend is telling you a story...at least in my opinion.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Fifty Shades of Grey?

I'd be a liar if I didn't say that the "red room" wasn't a memorable moment in the book. I didn't think it was as crazy as everyone made it out to be. I mean it's obviously not the norm for most people, but to each his own. It definitely makes for an interesting story.

Any additional comments?

I actually really liked this book! I was afraid to listen to this in all honestly; only because of what everyone was saying about it, but the story was intriguing from the very beginning and held my attention throughout the whole book.

The story was great but , thought +he narrator could have done a better job of narrating instead of trying to make new voices, she should have just continued narrating.

Where does Fifty Shades of Grey rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Fifty Shades of Grey is only my 5th audio book that i have listened to...suprisingly enough, it did not disappoint! Of course, in the beginning...I did find it awkward the female voice narrator...narrorating ALL the charatcters...but after getting used to it, it didn't bother me one bit! Overall, the 1st of the Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy Audiobook was AMAIZING...the experience was VERY satisfying...and hit EVERY inch of my 'inner goddess'...I give it 5/5!!!

What did you like best about this story?

Out of all the Audiobooks/books I have read...the reason I LOVE this one is because of its descriptive 'rawness'...Unlike my fellow 50 SoG fans...i had watched the movie first...now, i loved the movie...but the Audiobook was in a whole other level in itself!!! What scene lasted 4-5 minutes long in the movie...lasted 45+ minutes by Audio...the times i wanted 'more' (hehe) i got it w/ Audio...it really did paint a picture for you not only visually...but emotionally and physically as well!!! The story reallly was that...a story, of love, lust, passion, and need...oh, so much NEED...!

What does Becca Battoe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Hats off to the ever so talented Becca Battoe! She definitely encaptured the inexperienced little girl transformed strong willed woman, Miss Anastasia Steele...The tones, pauses, and overall performance was spot on to the character. Becca Battoe was Miss Anastasia Steele.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

From (almost) start to finish, I could have listened all the way...once i got the hang of it...I was able to sink in to the story...instead of just reading it;0) I was infatuated with the story and was frequently pulled into the depths of what is and forever will be the passion/lust/and maybe a little love that Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele have for one another. I find myself occasionally WANTING and NEEDING more...oh, so much more!

Any additional comments?

Whether it be books, movies, or even Audiobooks...when finding a story that you're able to let yourself go and allow all the rawness of the characters and/or settings into yourself or even your soul...I have to say, you found a damn good book! Thanks for reading my review and I hope you found what you were looking for;0)

Love this book

Love the book, the narrater was good, but I didn't care for her voice much, felt her tone was too valley girl at times.
