When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too - but on his own terms.

Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success - his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family - Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey’s secrets and explores her own dark desires.

This audiobook is intended for mature audiences.

Look for E L James’ passionate new love story, The Mister, coming April 16, 2019.

Was surprised and involved start to finish!

Would you consider the audio edition of Fifty Shades of Grey to be better than the print version?

Yes becaus it drags you in like a movie.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Christian and Anna who couldn't love two different people finding there way into love.

What does Becca Battoe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She was so good with bringing to life each character that you felt like you were a part of the story.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes but finding the time all in one sitting would have been hard unless on vacation.

Eh

I don't regret listening to this as I got it for free but I would suggest that one not waste their money on it. A very monotone voice actress and a sub par story have not left me satisfied.

Performer's Voice Annoying!

If you could sum up Fifty Shades of Grey in three words, what would they be?

Erotic, Pornographic, Sexy

Who was your favorite character and why?

Christian Grey because he had accomplished so much at such a young age but was a tortured soul!

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Becca Battoe?

Julia Whelan

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Becca Battoe made this audiobook unbearable to listen to. All those whiny vocal drops did nothing except make the character Ana sound like a spoiled valley girl! Please never use her again!

the mist of the voice

the voice needs to have more than one person reading. I would have loved it more with a man's voice in there. other than that I love it

Great voice for the audiobook narrator.

The book was ok. Anastasia always talking about her inner whatever gets on my last nerve.

Grey is right, only a so so book..

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The narrator is not great, not as bad as others have said, but not great..and the writing of the book is not very impressive either, could easily have been writen by a high school kid..

Could you see Fifty Shades of Grey being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

yes, and i bet the writing would be better..

Any additional comments?

i bought this book to see what all the fuss was about, and yes it is seriously dirty, and yes it can be absorbing, but more often than not i found myself just trying to finish what i spent my money no for that reason and no other..

Loved the story!

I really enjoyed the story line but unfortunately I wasn't fond of the narrator's voice.
