When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too - but on his own terms.

Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success - his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family - Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey’s secrets and explores her own dark desires.

This audiobook is intended for mature audiences.

Look for E L James’ passionate new love story, The Mister, coming April 16, 2019.

Best of the Best

I have listened to over 700 audio books in the last 20 years. This is by far the best series I have heard. Now if you don't like erotic romance this is not for you. No other series has actually had me go seeking out my husband for private time.

Great story and characters

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

There was a lot of negative about the narrator but I thought she was fine, I really wish they had a male and a female narrator. I love the characters in this book and the story is fun.

What did you like best about this story?

I love his obsession with her.

Have you listened to any of Becca Battoe’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I think she does a fine job, she sounds like someone in her early twenties.

I have laughed several times.

Great Story For Romantics

I enjoyed both versions of the book. While reading the book, I could not put it down. I purchased the audiobook to continue reading/listening to the book while driving to work, etc. I travel over 1 hour to work one way. I love the characters. Grey and Ana's romantic journey is obsessive. I read the Trilogy twice.

good story....... Poor writing

Would you consider the audio edition of Fifty Shades of Grey to be better than the print version?

I never read the print version

What other book might you compare Fifty Shades of Grey to and why?

In death series by J. D Robb, because of relationship betwee Rorke & Eve and Grey & Ana

Have you listened to any of Becca Battoe’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

no

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were many

Any additional comments?

I almost gave up during the first book, but plodded on and it was well worth it. I don't understand the dislike of the narrator, The narrator is really important for me and I think this one is good. Too many 'Holy Cows' and 'Oh my Goshes", they make the writing too childish.

Terrible narrator!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

The narrator is so whiny and annoying! I could only get through 3 chapters before I went out and bought the book. I would NOT recommend this series as an audiobook - I couldn't imagine HOURS of her voice. I actually made a few friends listen to see what their thoughts were and they agreed they her voice was absolutely dreadful!

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Becca Battoe?

ANYONE ELSE!

More than the sensational

What made the experience of listening to Fifty Shades of Grey the most enjoyable?

Story was laying the foundation for the next two books. Loved the total. Was a little to graphic.. tended to become bored with the explicit sex. Seemed to be unnecessary.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I am totally disappointed in the narrator. She sounds like a 16 year old girl stuck in high school. I would think for this type of book she would sound more like an adult. Having a hard time getting into this book.
