Pleasantly Surprised

I actually thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was one of my "buy one get one free" during the holidays and I was honestly skeptical at first. I probably wouldn't have given it a chance if it weren't free, but I really really enjoyed this book. Most of the time in these kinds of books, it's all about the sex and little plot is actually there. In this text however, there was a lot of story line and it was GOOD story line. It wasn't pure cheese, and it kept you checking how much time you have left because you didn't want it to end. This book covered in one text what most of these books cover over the course of 2 or 3 books. The steamy moments were excellent as well; none of that was taken away by any of the plot. I also liked the narrator. Someone said once that the best kind of narrator is one you don't notice throughout, (because they engross you so much into the story and in keeping up with the different characters and voices) and I absolutely agree. Excellent listen all around. I definitely recommend this book.

Tate has a great sense of humor and is a very strong female who doesn't take crap from anyone.

It’s just okay

I read this based off a recommendation. It wasn’t as good as I expected but not horrible. Very alpha domination but has a strong female lead as well.

DO NOT DO THIS

I have a personal hatred for hearing people chew. Please narrators do not do the chewing noises. It is distracting and leads to a rage for all people like me.

If you are like me you will want to skip parts of the story JUST AS I had to do. The absolute worst thing ever.

Story is OK. All of Susan Wrights books are similar. The leading lady is ALWAYS referred to as baby by their love interest. All the men are dominant, and pushy. The anal sex scene is pretty standard one finger two finger three finger orgasm he enters her anally then she cums again as he is a perfect fit, The sex in the story is way over the top. I enjoy most of the story but it's pretty standard

I love this story

I've listened to it several times. it's funny, sweet, dirty and I love the narrator!! she does am incredible job reading the story. (but the male moaning is cringe worthy girl...)

Enjoyment

When I first started with this was not sure of where it's going, but was I shocked. The characters were fully fleshed out. So excited I paid for the second one even when but money was low. Keep them coming.

Surprised they didn't check my ID

This is not the first time I've looked over at my partner in the middle of a book and declared "This is Porn....", but this is probably the best time.

Usually books like this one, that are beginning to redefine both paranormal fantasy and the bodice ripper genre, are written so that I just want them to be over with so I can enjoy the good bits and stop cringing in between. Not true of this story!

There was enough interesting plot and non relationship tension to make this book a book I would have wanted to read even if it hadn't been for the INCREDIBLY steamy scenes between the two leads. There were also quite a few very funny lines and quips.

The only thing I didn't like about the book was that some of the secondary characters veered pretty far into "stick figures with a schtick" territory. Most of the time this was still fairly amusing, but sometimes I just really wanted them to shut up.

Jill Redfield did a great job of bringing across the main characters voice, and reading the steamier bits without distracting from what was going on. I always feel like the best narrators are the ones you don't notice, and so I guess she did a great job, because she only made the story better.

Overall, totally worth my credit, but I will not make the mistake of listening to any more of her books with my car windows down again! Hi Kids!

Sooooo.. enjoyable (4.5)

This is the one if you like humor, sex and a paranormal plot. This is not for you if you have any problems with raw, sexual language—though I’ve eagerly listened to more and, thus, find the amount here not much—and humor through snide interplay or insults between characters. For some, the heroine could be irritating b/c she’s very, very snide and so determined to appear bigger in nature, what some would call a hard a**. But I enjoyed her. It’s also a love story that’s plausible. I was sad to see there are no other audible books by this author. I really enjoyed this book, including the narrator. Her work was not the best I’ve heard, and I’ve heard a looooooooot of books. But she worked well with this content.

One of my ultimate favorite PNR Series....

If you love a good paranormal romance series than I insist you buy this book. I was starting to worry that I had burned myself out with this genre but thanks to Suzanne Wright/ Jill Redfield I found I was pleasantly mistaken. I was intrigued from the very beginning. This series will not disappoint you especially if you like sexy alphas, passion, dominance, and even fun snarkiness between characters. Worth credit!!!!
