Thrilling romantic suspense!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Fatal Deception?

There were quite a few that I can still remember even months after listening to the audio. I would have to say that the bedroom scene is the most memorable. It was HOT! When Mara confronts the villain is another.

Which character – as performed by Pyper Down – was your favorite?

Pyper Down truly excels at her male voices, so I would say Harrison was my favorite of her characterizations. She has a clear voice that is easy to follow. Her voices - especially her male voices - sound genuine and are consistent throughout. Pyper Down’s performance makes the story come alive.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Her past came back to haunt her...

Katie is one of my favorite authors. Fatal Deception is an enjoyable listen from the first through to the last. If you enjoy well-plotted stories of passionate romance paired with steadily building thrilling suspense and packed with excitement and non-stop action, I’d encourage you to add Fatal Deception to your must-read-soon list.

Where does Fatal Deception rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Fatal Deception ranks right up at the top of all the audiobooks I have listened to so far. Pyper Down did a good job when she narrated the first two books in this series-but I think she did an excellent job with this one.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved this whole story. It is my favorite so far in this series. Harrison and Mara are wonderful characters, and I loved learning about Mara's secret past. The love between them is very heartfelt and the story is full of action and suspense. My favorite part is when Mara confronts Neville at the end, but overall I enjoyed how love conquers all.

What does Pyper Down bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I absolutely love the way Pyper changes her voice with all of the different characters. Her voice sucks you in and makes you want to keep on listening. I love to read, but when I listened to this audiobook, the way Pyper changed voices and tones just really kept me captivated and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

If you like a book that has a lot of action, suspense, and hot romance, I would definitley recommend this one!

The Past Returns

Does she have the strength to leave him? The Red Stone Security Series is filled with strong characters, passionate romance and plenty of suspense. Mara is such a strong, compassionate woman. I love that she had the strength and courage to stand up for her self. She and Harrison are the perfect couple. They are fiercely loyal and protective of those they care about. This plot flowed smoothly and the suspense kept building. As always I enjoyed when characters from previous Red Stone books make an appearance. I'm addicted to this series and to the writing of Katie Reus. What fun it was to listen to Fatal Deception as an audiobook! Pyper Down made the story come alive with her narration.

"Pushed to the Edge"

Would you consider the audio edition of Fatal Deception to be better than the print version?

yes as Pyper Down makes our hero super hot. Of the series, this is the hottest one as our hero gets pushed to the edge.

What other book might you compare Fatal Deception to and why?

these are a short stories series that gabs you from word one. This author does a much better job in these short stories than her longer ones. It is almost as if she must meet a word deadline and make each word paint a fast,clear and sexy picture. I like to hear some short stories as authors are forced to write better or get better editing.

Have you listened to any of Pyper Down’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

yes, I have all four of this series and none disappoint, but you must like short stories. If you feel a story needs to be longer and get bummed out if not, then these are not for you. I like this reader. I just wish I knew her A.K.A. name so I could purchase more of her reads. Buy one book and listen before buying all as reader may not be for you.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes, as these are short. This was my fave of the series as Harrison was oh so commanding. If you like the domineering type, then this brother is the hottest!

I've Enjoyed This Series

This is my first Katie Reus series and I love that her story lines intertwine throughout the series. She has a great style of writing and I'll be looking for more books from this author.

Another nail biting story in this seriesl

Another nail biting, heart stopping, suspenseful , intense , edgy and sexy story in this very entertaining series by Ms Reus.
This one gives us Mara Caldwell and Harrison . He was a CIA agent and now works at the Red Stone Security with his brothers. They have been married for a couple of years. But Mara has kept him in the dark about her past. Now her past has come back to haunt her and put all those she love in danger.
Will the past and her deception destroy their marriage? Will she live to know the answer to that , and if she does , can he trust her and their future.
A fast pacing story that will leave you wanting to read more stories in this series.
The narrator, Pyper Down does a very good job with the narration and the voices.
