not all that great

I'm not a huge fan of the girl who ready this book. the voice she makes for grace is annoying. also the story is alright. boring if anything its one of the worst the series.

I still don't see how this is anything like Cassandra Clare's mortal instruments, but still good.

Campy Supernatural fun

This is the 2002 prequel that started Kenyon’s Dark Hunter series back in 2005. If you know your sexy supernaturals, you know of this series.
While not the best written, it has always been one of my favorites in the series. Sit back and enjoy what happens when Grace opens her book to dream the sexiest of dreams of Julian.
And prepare to laugh and cry.
The narration was just a little too campy. In my opinion, it took away from the book. Yes, the humor is a bit campy as written, it didn’t need to be pushed further. A little reserve would have served the story better.

FUN ! SEXY !

I enjoyed the story,sexy,funny and enjoyable, but I love Sherrilyn Kenyon stories.I would say it was worth the money.

Good but could be better...

I can see where the series is heading and as a back story for what I know is a great series it was pretty good. However the narrator SUCKED at accents. She made the super macho hero sound like a brainless nitwit swinging both ways who was apparently VERY confused about what kinds of accent he should actually use and must've had a mouth full poo or cotton everytime he opened his mouth to roll his r's. The sex scenes were also much too cheesy, far too frequent and unfortunately overshadowed the much more interesting story line. Thank goodness this series gets much much better. I sincerely hope the narrator does too!

Like A Fantasy

The Dark Hunter world is fantastical. You can't go wrong with any of Kenyon's books, and on audio they are even more sexy with the character's accents done with professional narration. Readers can't help but be swept into this series.

great book

Loved reading the book so muchI figured I'd get it to listen to as well. Took some time to get used to the person reading it. Once I did I was able to enjoy it. Maybe not as much as reading it myself but I'll still be listening to it again.
