In the first in a dazzling new series, New York Times best-selling author Lorraine Heath introduces the Hellions of Havisham - three charismatic rogues destined to lose their hearts....
After six unsuccessful seasons, Miss Minerva Dodger chooses spinsterhood over fortune-hungry suitors. But thanks to the Nightingale Club, she can at least enjoy one night of pleasure. At that notorious establishment, ladies don masks before choosing a lover. The sinfully handsome duke of Ashebury is more than willing to satisfy the secretive lady's desires - and draws Minerva into an exquisite, increasingly intimate affair.
A man of remarkable talents, Ashe soon deduces that his bedmate is the unconventional Miss Dodger. Intrigued by her wit and daring, he sets out to woo her in earnest. Yet Minerva refuses to trust him. How to court a woman he has already thoroughly seduced? And how to prove that the passion unleashed in darkness is only the beginning of a lifetime's pleasure...?

Some of the actions and lives of the characters do not correlate with how I believe London Society truly was - but overall it was an enjoyable read, and I plan to acquire the other two books.
I was a little disappointed in the narrator's performance, it was hard for me to hear a distinct difference for each person, and I couldn't fully distinguish the male narrator until the epilogue.

First Thought when Finished: Minerva from Falling in Bed with a Duke just became my favorite leading lady in Lorraine's connected series. I feel kinda bad because she knocked her mom down to 3rd!
Overall Thoughts:I freaking loved Minverva. I liked her brass and matter-of-fact way of looking at things. I also love that she is not a classic beauty. I already loved her parents but I was so glad to see them support her in every way. I have to say I liked her spirit too. Spinster or not--I am not sure I would have had the fortitude to visit the Nightengale. Ashe though I both loved and at moments really wasn't sure if he was good enough for her. At one point in the story, I was yelling at him to use his words! Since I both listened to and read this book (yep twice y'all)--the second time around I yelled at him louder LOL. Though I never doubted his awesomeness the second time around. If you like historicals with peculiar leading ladies then I think you will love Falling Into Bed with a Duke!
Narrated By Helen Lloyd, Rich Cope/Length: 10 hrs and 5 mins
Normally Helen is paired up with James but I actually really enjoyed her narration with Rich. I think this is the first time I have listened to him and he did an excellent job. Helen always does an outstanding job. If she or Susan are narrating Lorraine's stuff, I know it will be excellent. I highly recommend this on audio.

Very enjoyable story.
Plot and characters.
No. Ms. Lloyd is an effective narrator when she is reading the general text, but she can't change her voice to represent different characters. That is a fatal problem. I couldn't even determine who was speaking.
It comes a time when you have to choose between listening to audible or going to bed.
This was a good story bad bad Narrator. I wanted to like this story but the monotone of this narrator had me falling to sleep.
I really enjoyed this book. Lorraine Heath is a wonderful story teller. These characters were very well developed. I could really feel for Minerva! The narration was very good.
I've loved all the Lorraine Heath novels I've listened to but I wish they would pick a younger sounding narrator. Helen Lloyd is wonderful but she sounds like she's in her 60's and the characters are in their 20's!! Otherwise, lovely story and will listen to the rest of the series.
I love Epic Fantasy....have become a Historical Romance fan because I am a sucker for a good Happily Ever After. Good characters are a must
This was another super addition to the whole world of "Scoundrels" Heath has created! I loved having Jack Dodger in the story.
This book was steamy - and I loved Ashebury and Minerva's chemistry from the start. There was plenty of angst - that underlying knowing when the other shoe was going to drop! But the supporting cast of characters play such an important role in this book. Well developed characters lead you to want to hear everyone's story!
Heath quickly became one of my all time favorite writers. She created a world I hope never ends! This was just a small piece of the puzzle and it is wonderful. Already in love with her next book in this series and can't wait for more!
"Not bad - just got a bit bored!!"
Usually really like Lorraine Heath's books but just wained a bit for me! Found it all a bit boring in the end!
Narrator ok but basically a
Mediocre book and performance!
