Publisher's summary

Reformed art forger Tilda Goodnight reluctantly joins forces with semi-reformed con man Davy Dempsey. They want to steal a dubious painting and several million embezzled dollars from a lethal widow named Clea, who has targeted a mild-mannered art collector as her next dearly departed. Complications include her sister, the female impersonator; his best friend, the reformed cat burglar; a recidivist embezzler named Rabbit; a hit man; some lousy sex; and a juke box. Trouble ensues....

Great Sequel

Jennifer Crusie is one of the cleverest, and funniest of the modern romance writers. This book is a sequel to her book, Welcome to Temptation, and continues the story of the Dempseys with Davey Dempsey coming heart to head with a similarly bent family, the Goodnights. He meets his match in Tilda, along with the art world, which, bar none, is filled with more con artists and tricksters than even the Dempsey clan could imagine. This is a very entertaining book, especially if you are at all familiar with the art world. Read Temptation first, but do not miss this continuation.

Author + Narrator = Perfection

I bought and read this audiobook a long time ago, after reading Welcome to Temptation, which I also enjoyed. I loved the plot, the characters, and the fact that Davy is supportive and respectful of Tilda. I kept expecting him to turn into a cad... just a great story. Also, for me, the cadence of the narration fit so perfectly with the style of dialog and the tone of the book that this is now my favorite Crusie book and one of my all-time favorite books, period. I will listen to anything Aasne Vigessa narrates. In fact, I've bought at least two other books based on that alone, and was not disappointed. I wish she would do more.

Sequel to Welcome To Temptation

I LOVED Welcome To Temptation and have listened to it numerous times so had high hopes for Faking It but it disappointed me in that the narrator doesn't make any of the characters from WTT that appear in this book sound anything like they did originally so it was like they had never existed. I had very high expectations which is my own fault but it really made a big difference to me, otherwise it's JC's usual zany and kooky characters but I really wanted Davy to sound like the Davy I knew from WTT.

French Farce Meets Love Story

Any additional comments?

The book is kind-of a French farce with a damsel in distress and a knight in somewhat tarnished armor. It was delightful to listen to during my 80-minute commute each way. Sad moments leavened the silliness to keep the story interesting and the plot moving briskly. I think it definitely was worth the credit!

Well Faked

The dialog is witty, funny, and charming. Davy was wonderful and so was the entire crazy family with whom he and his friends became involved. If you just want to laugh and smile the whole time you are listening to a story or if you need to be cheered up. Purchase this audio book, its histerical. There was a good twist at the end.

Beautiful, another winner!

Warm, funny, quirky, intriguing, suspenseful - how often can you find so many subjects in one book! Jennifer Crusie creates such a beautiful family of characters that you don't want to leave it when the book is over. Aasne Vigesaa brings all the different characters vigorously to life and amplifies their various personalities and nuances. I wish Ms Crusie wrote many, many more books and we had many more of these treasures.

Loved it

Absolutely love almost all of Jennifer Crusie's books and loved that this was a follow up to Temptation. I wish more of her books had a sequel, her character development always makes me want to know what happened to them after!

The narrator was fun to listen to as well and that always helps a great book be even better.
