Publisher's summary

Reformed art forger Tilda Goodnight reluctantly joins forces with semi-reformed con man Davy Dempsey. They want to steal a dubious painting and several million embezzled dollars from a lethal widow named Clea, who has targeted a mild-mannered art collector as her next dearly departed. Complications include her sister, the female impersonator; his best friend, the reformed cat burglar; a recidivist embezzler named Rabbit; a hit man; some lousy sex; and a juke box. Trouble ensues....

Funny characters is humorous situations.

I really enjoyed this book but it took awhile to catch on to the many characters. The voices could have been a tad bit more different. One I got up to speed I could tell the characters apart.

I liked just about all the characters. Matilda and Davy were my favorites (once I realized Daisy was really Davy!) But Louise and Eve were quite fascinating too. Even Clea was enjoyable.

It has a Neil Simon type feel with a lot going on and funny characters.

FUN! Davy's hilarious story!

Coming right at you- Davy Dempsey's Story. And of course, Davy's story couldn't be very straight forward, could it. Thats what makes him the most cunning of the Dempsey's. So when you throw: Betty, Veronica, Scarlet and ....wait... yes Matilda, or shall we call her Tilda... you get one hell of mix- plus alot of names to keep track of. And she's not the only one wandering around with multiple "identities". Hello Louise. Plus add Pops into the story mix and its just one big 'ole Dempsey party with a Clea on top. literally. Has plenty of humor to keep the story moving (plus the narrator doesn't pause of a breath - which definitely keeps the pace going). Although it could have more in the romance department, its enough to be satisfying. All in all a great story. I will probably wait awhile to re-read, but if you know me- even CONSIDERING re-reading is a compliment (blame it on a short attention span). While the beginning of the book was a bit of a snooze, wait until half way and just hold on for the ride in the closet of your life!

Fun, Fun, Fun..

Would you listen to Faking It again? Why?

I have already listened to this twice, the second time with girlfriends, and plan to share it again soon with another friend. Fun from beginning to end...

What was one of the most memorable moments of Faking It?

Can't say, because anything I said would be a spoiler!

Which scene was your favorite?

Again, spoiler alert!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Fake can sometimes be more real than reality!

Any additional comments?

Light, fun listen with great narration. Almost as good as taking a mini-vacation!

A Goodnight by any other name . . . .

This book is . . . . great. Which should not be a huge shock considering it is written by Crusie and narrated by Vigesaa. This dynamic duo teamed up on "Welcome to Temptation" another great listen and while not exactly a prequel to this book they do have some over lapping characters so it is fun to have listened to both. I loved loved loved all the Goodnights and the strays they have picked up along the way and wish I could know them all in real life or even better to sit in on a poker game. Every character in this novel no matter how prominent of role they had in the plot were multidimensional. Ms. Cruise is so talented when it comes to bringing her characters to life and they seem like they could be real people and they\ way they interact with each other makes me lover her stories. She does an exceptional job "pacing" the book, they are a fun listen from start to finish. This book contains wit, humor and heat and often in the same scenes. I would recommend this novel to anyone with a sense of humor or split personalities or likes a little romance, art, music, dogs, cross-sticks and or movies. I kept hoping this book would go on and on and the worse thing I can say about it is that it ended. Davey and what's her name, I hope to see you pop up again in a later Cruise novel.

what a great read!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. the Good night's are a quirky group and that's what makes it so interesting. There are tons of plot twists and one of the sex scenes near the end is the funniest sex scene in a book EVER! I will listen to this one again.

One of my favorite books!

Would you listen to Faking It again? Why?

I've listened to this book so many times, I've lost count! The performance is excellent and the story line keeps you engrossed.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved all the characters, but Nadine was great and perky. Actually, maybe precocious is a better word.

Which scene was your favorite?

I'm torn. For a quick, lighthearted scene, I like the scene between Nadine and Davy. Nadine is explaining the difference between muffins and donuts. When Nadine says Simon is a donut with sprinkles, Davy says she's too young to know about sprinkles!

For a longer, more intense scene, of course I pick the scene where Davy and Tilda are finally coming clean about their criminal pasts and it's getting them hot!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me laugh and got me a little revved up!

Any additional comments?

My favorite line from the book is: "When Eve ate the apple, her knowledge increased. But God liked dumb women, so paradise ceased."

I highly recommend this book!

Loved ALL the people in this story.

I want to live with this family! I didn't want this story to end. I want to know more - I hope, hope, hope Ms. Cruise is penning further adventures.
Ms. Vigesaa made me beleive in each character - each person has a different voice. She is very emotive.

Good sequel to "Welcome to Temptation"

Enjoyable listen but a bit slow at times. It's always enjoyable hearing about the Dempsey family and finally getting to meet dad.
