Publisher's summary

Reformed art forger Tilda Goodnight reluctantly joins forces with semi-reformed con man Davy Dempsey. They want to steal a dubious painting and several million embezzled dollars from a lethal widow named Clea, who has targeted a mild-mannered art collector as her next dearly departed. Complications include her sister, the female impersonator; his best friend, the reformed cat burglar; a recidivist embezzler named Rabbit; a hit man; some lousy sex; and a juke box. Trouble ensues....

Not what I was expecting

Ok, clearly I misunderstood the title and this has noting to do with... well, you know... *faking it* lol.

That said it has an entertaining plot and interesting characters. The writing is very well done and the narration is spot on. Overall a great book to spend a few hours with and an author I'm going ot be keeping an eye on.

Hysterically Funny

I love books by Jennifer Crusie. This one started out a bit slow in my humble opinion, but it picked up after a short while and I was hooked. Crusie's signature style involves equal parts mayhem, humor and romance. Plus she's a dog lover--there's always a dog somewhere in her story. Great read, somewhat disappointing narration but it was still very enjoyable.

Jennifer Crusie is my new favorite author!

This one took a little bit to get into but then took off and became a very complex and interesting story, not to mention funny. Always unusual characters that you fall in love with or hate.

This Was Fun

I read this after Welcome to Temptation, because I really enjoyed that book and knew this had some of the same characters. It was a real surprise to find I liked this even better. I thought that the narrator was a great fit, her voice was just irreverent, sarcastic and casual enough. It added just the right touch. The conversations between the two main characters reminded me of Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell in His Girl Friday. The one-liners flew fast and furious. Every single character in this book was well developed and warranted at least a novella for themselves.

The plot was thin, but that was fine, because the characters and the dialog were what mattered.

I've listened to most of Jennifer Crusie's books in the last two years. None of them are terrible, most are good, but she can be inconsistent. Listening to her dialog is sometimes difficult because most sentences end with "he said" and "she said". Enough that sometimes that is all you hear. But it wasn't a problem at all on this book. The narration was spot on.

If you want to read something light and funny with dialog so sharp I had to go back to the 1930's to match it, I recommend this book heartily.

Easy listen - good distraction

Enjoyable, doesn't make you work too hard. Sometimes you just need something light to distract from everyday life and this works well.
