When your boyfriend bets you in a poker game, you'd better know when to run.
It's bad enough Jade Frost's boyfriend dragged her to a boring poker game. It's even worse that he actually threw her into the betting pot during an intense round - and lost. Talk about the perfect excuse for Jade to make him her ex-boyfriend.
Now she supposedly belongs to the ultrarich, extremely gorgeous Shep Prescott. He could have anything he wants, yet he seems to be in hot pursuit of her. No matter how rude, how snarky, how impossible she acts, it doesn't stop him. Her horrible behavior seems to make him want her more.
When she finds herself starting to fall for him, Jade's confused. There's more to Shep than the carefree rich charmer he portrays. No way could he want a serious relationship with her - or could he?

I may be addicted to audiobooks. I love my husband and my kids but I get a chance to escape with the books and be someone else for a while
Although this was a little unconventional, it's truly a sweet story of love and romance. Mix in a boy/man who acts like the epitome of the spoiled little rich boy who always gets what he wants (which also includes women) and a sweet "girl next door door ". What starts out as a bet, turns into a fight to protect the love for each other when faced against all odds. In the end, their love and devotion shines through..
I only gave this book 3 stars because I hated Jade 60 percent of the book. She was way too nasty and insecure 60% of the book. I liked Shep. I thought he was a good guy who didn't do anything too bad to Jade. The bet thing to me seemed more like a young man being young and silly. There needed to be more character and relationship development. I did not start liking this book until the end. I may try another of this author's books, but I saw that her characters tend to be the same. I'll see.
I am a Lover of Audible books and also cd and mp3 books. I have 3 grown children, 8 grandchildren and I have been married for 30 years.
for sure. its a great college love story
it flowed right from the start, never got boring or slow...it is great.... a feel good love story.
they both did an outstanding job. they brought life to the story you wouldn't get out of a book... they both have great voices for male and female characters and brought them to life you could feel the emotions through there voices.
Yes. The story was Fantastic, but the narrative makes it come alive. You can really feel the characters moods, and emotions with the audio rendition of Fair Game.
A more recent release that has similarities as far as the premise goes would be Meghan March's Bad Judgment, which is also an enemies to lover romance, however the plot for Fair Game is unique in regards to how this pair makes it match.
I loved the scene with drunk Jade, when she starts to loosen up and meets two other girls while waiting for Shep. It's the first time you start to see her shed some layers from her outter barrier of defense. Shep was also adorably honorable
The Love Gamble, or something a long those lines.
I really adore this book. Te characters were entertaining, and fresh. Their personalities really sparked off te page but hearing the narration of Fair Game made them that much more vibrant. Their connection was realistically lived out, and was sweet. It was a great experience to watch Jade and Shep come into their own, as individuals as well as a couple. I didn't really care for the relationship between Shep and his friend and cousin, they seemed rather in caring about Shep at times, and were truly self serving in their motives. I would have liked to see them warm a bit to Jade and Shep relationship or even make an effort to get to know Jade out of curiosity and respect for Shep as she was now a part of their lives in a round about way, but they stayed distant and obstinate to the Shep has a girlfriend idea until nearly the last chapter. The sub characters became an annoyance after a time because of that, but it didn't distract from the main story line at all, or how adorable the main characters are together. Definite a big recommend from me.
I absolutely love Ms. Murphy! She never disappoints. This book was no exception, the characters and storyline grabbed you from page one. It was funny and a great way to escape! Trust me this author is FANTABULOUS!!!
This book might really appeal to a new college Freshman. Very young adult.
I was not able to connect with the characters and I stopped ready after the forth chapter. I am going to return it and find something I will like better.
