The poem then follows Evangeline across the landscapes of America as she spends years in a search for him. Finally she settles in Philadelphia and, as an old woman, works as a nun among the poor. While tending the dying during an epidemic she finds Gabriel among the sick, and he dies in her arms.

I love this story -- it is by far one of my favorites. However, this Narrator doesn't seem to get that it is a love story. He just reads the words -- without any emotion at all. This could be read better with someone who understands and likes the story.
This is my favorite audiobook. This excellent reading can be listened to again and again, and enjoyed more and more. I strongly recommend this audiobook.
