Publisher's summary

They are here. They ride. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

His name is Ares, and the fate of mankind rests on his powerful shoulders. If he falls to the forces of evil, the world falls too. As one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, he is far stronger than any mortal, but even he cannot fight his destiny forever. Not when his own brother plots against him.

Yet there is one last hope. Gifted in a way other humans can't - or won't - understand, Cara Thornhart is the key to both this Horseman's safety and his doom. But involving Cara will prove treacherous, even beyond the maddening, dangerous desire that seizes them the moment they meet. For staving off eternal darkness could have a staggering cost: Cara's life.

Wonderful series! Not to be missed!!

This series is excellent, and I can't believe I waited so long to read it. I suggest reading the Demonica series first, since this is a spin-off from the series.

This series is turning out better than Demonica, if that's possible.

High recommend to a sexy and completely engrossing series about the four hoursemen of the apocalypse. Very High Recommend to the first book- Eternal Rider: the story of Cara, a human who lives an isolated life after suffering PTSD, and her warrior Ares, or "War", one of the Horseman fighting to keep his seal from breaking and bringing on the apocalypse. Their story is wonderful and will be on my reread shelf.

I don't think the narrator is bad, though she isn't my favorite. I loved the narrator from Ione's Pleasure Unbound. Wish she had the series.

However, I am so happy that they are sticking to the narrator, unlike Demonica series. THANK YOU AND GREAT DECISION TO STICK WITH ONE NARRATER!!! It makes a big difference in the continuity of the series!

Demonica For Animal Lovers!

Eternal Rider is the first in a new series set in the Demonica world.
I loved this book as much as any from the Demonica series. The bad guys, the action, the romance, the end of the world...it's all great stuff, but Larissa Ione threw in an additional element that hooked me from the beginning: the animals. Animals in this book are essential to the story. The Horsemen aren't complete without their horses. I truly hope that the other horses are given as much "space on the page" in future books as Battle was given in Eternal Rider. I loved him almost as much as Hal..the hellhound puppy. I really want Hal (and family) to make at least brief appearances during the rest of the series. Familiar faces from the Demonica series are also present, and Hillary Huber did a wonderful job with the narration.
I'm looking forward to listening to book 2 and the release of book 3 and 4.

Fan-freaking-tastic!!!

Larissa Ione is one talented paranormal romance writer! I like to listen to paranormal romance books every once in a while but I am always more into the romance side than the paranormal side. Not with this book. Mrs. Ione has created such a rich, interesting, captivating world that catches your complete attention from the very beggining to the very end. This book is complex and I had a hard time the first few chapters keeping up with the many characters. The book even begins with a glossary of terms That I forgot half way through. Once I started to understand who was who and why they had two names then the story picked up and I loved every minute of it.

This book is a spin off from the Demonica series and I suggest that you listen to at least the first book of the Demonica series before listening to this one. This is an apocalyptic dark book but done so well it feels good. The romance is perfectly developed and the love scenes are amazing. This is such a well rounded story that you end up enjoying the romance, the action, the mystery and even the scary parts. I just finished this book and I'm starting Immortal Rider right away (which by the way has the same narrator Hillary Huber).

Narration: Hillary Huber is a great narrator! Even with a complicated story that has many characters you could always tell a different character was speaking. She added the right emotions to this book so that the scary suspenseful parts were more intense and the love scenes more pationate. I hope the publishers keep the same narrator for the rest of the series because she does a great job!

What I was expecting, good paranomal romance novel

What about Hillary Huber’s performance did you like?

I enjoyed the different voices/tones she used to tell the difference between characters in the book.

Any additional comments?

Good book, love this author. Exactly what I was expecting, and looking forward to listening to more audiobooks

Never Thought I'd Get Hooked

What made the experience of listening to Eternal Rider the most enjoyable?

I really enjoyed this story. I never thought I'd be interested in a human vs demon storyline much less a romantic one, but this one had me in the first chapter.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Eternal Rider?

The description of the passion between the characters is intense. The way she describes their thoughts and verbal communication regarding what they'd like to do to one another is enough to make one blush...among other things.

What about Hillary Huber’s performance did you like?

I really liked Hillary Huber's voice and the way she was able to portray the characters without sounding fake when doing the opposite sex. Her voice is very even, and doesn't grate on the senses like some others.

Any additional comments?

Loved it. Have already purchased book 2.

WOW! A GREAT LISTEN WORTH THE CREDIT!

If you could sum up Eternal Rider in three words, what would they be?

"Intense Apocalyptic Romance"

What did you like best about this story?

I really loved how it just kept you on the edge of your seat! It just got so intense that I wasn't sure what was going to happen or how things would go down leaving me anxious. Really hooks you up in the story!

What three words best describe Hillary Huber’s performance?

I would say "Not So Good"...the other reviewers got it right.

She has her good moments, but it got really annoying when she gets really quite at times. I often had to back track to hear what was said. Granted it is an apocalypse story, but the voices were strange and easy to confuse as well. I would have given it more stars had there been a better narrator.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me a laugh at many different moments, but I would say it mostly kept me wanting more. It was really hard to stop listening!

Any additional comments?

Anxious to listen to the rest of this series...this is my first book by Larissa Ione, and so far I'm loving her!

I must admit I was nervous at the beginning, because it is a lot to take in and trying to keep track of all the different characters, not to mention all different types of characters, and all the little details are challenging at first, but it made up for it quickly!

Not what I expected

What did you like best about Eternal Rider? What did you like least?

more hard core porn then soft, I don't mind soft core like J.D. Rob (Nora Roberts) but this went to far

Has Eternal Rider turned you off from other books in this genre?

to much on porn not enough on story

What about Hillary Huber’s performance did you like?

Huber did well

AWESOMENESS!!

So good!!! I loved it... from Ares and his backstory, to Chaos, the hellhound out for vengeance, to the baby hellhound bonding to Cara... This book was totally action packed... and full of romance!!! So good to see familiar characters reappear after the Demonica Series...

I will read/listen to anything Larrisa Ione writes... so good!!!

Narration was awesome too..

Great buy, sale or credit...

Riding with War and Riding with Famine.

I accidently put the review for this book on the second book review. The covers look the same. Sexy. So I decided I will put both reviews for Eternal Rider and for Immortal Rider on this review for Eternal Rider

So far a good spin off from the Demonica series. Larissa has created a great world with both good and evil. It is very vivid in my mind. I love the animals in the story. Plus it had the added benefits of bringing the characters from Demonica into the stories, we get to find out about Keenan and Gem's baby. Towards the end the sex was slightly rougher than I like. I'm defiantly going to read the remaining books. At this point I will probably read everything Larissa Ione has written. Hillary Huber narrated the second book in the Demonica series which I thought she did a good job, but I think she does an even better job this time around. Supernatural fans with love this series.
