Publisher's summary

They are here. They ride. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

His name is Ares, and the fate of mankind rests on his powerful shoulders. If he falls to the forces of evil, the world falls too. As one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, he is far stronger than any mortal, but even he cannot fight his destiny forever. Not when his own brother plots against him.

Yet there is one last hope. Gifted in a way other humans can't - or won't - understand, Cara Thornhart is the key to both this Horseman's safety and his doom. But involving Cara will prove treacherous, even beyond the maddening, dangerous desire that seizes them the moment they meet. For staving off eternal darkness could have a staggering cost: Cara's life.

Normally don't write reviews unless...

Unless the book was REALLY good. As another review put it focuses a lot on the animals and the relationships they have in the book. There is also a good story aside from the expected sex.

Sometimes you just wanted the sex to be over with JUST to get back to the story. LOL.

Not to knock the dirty parts. I enjoyed those too.

I'm re-reading the book because I liked it so much.

If you like dark demonic slendermanish romance. This is the book for you!

Good story idea too much teenage preppy language

What did you like best about Eternal Rider? What did you like least?

The story idea was the thing I liked best

The readers male voices were horrible

Who was your favorite character and why?

Aries was my favorite character because of his strong male presence until it was mentioned that he had no hair on his chest which is not very manly.

What three words best describe Hillary Huber’s voice?

Miss Huber's voice is very seductive and sexy and very pleasing to the ear. Her male voices need tons of work which I understand could be very difficult to pull off sometimes especially with such a beautiful voice as Miss Huber's

What would have made this romance irresistible?

The characters were very intriguing and the authors reference to a lot of teenage type preppy language really took away from the story and the book as a whole. These characters are supposed to be more than 5000 years old and it just seemed weird that in all that time these characters could not mature and grow up as adults a little more than that.

I also think this in turn degraded the performance of Miss Huber.

Loved it!

Larissa Ione just keeps getting better and better and this one has it all: Great story, lush characters, dark enough to be enthralling, yummy sex scenes and twisted humor with a great ending. Major Keeper. Can't wait for the next one.

Decent story; ok performance

Interesting storyline. Mythology was fairly original

Didn't hate the reader's performance but I wasn't swept away by it. For those of you who have listened to Ray Porter reading Joe Ledger (Jonathan Mayberry).... Not even close. Still it didn't ruin it for me

Wrong Narrator

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Hillary Huber was totally the wrong pick for narrator. She's breathy and unemphatic. When Ares drops the f-bomb, she whispers it! This is supposed to be an alpha male, lady. Say it with some ruthlessness! Her voice and presentation make both the hero and the heroine appear weak. Which they aren't.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Eternal Rider?

I'd say Larrisa Ione writes some pretty hot sex scenes! She's not afraid to drop the f-bomb or swear or be crude. After all, these are soldier, warriors, alpha types, not regency heros. Makes the story and the characters more real.

Would you be willing to try another one of Hillary Huber’s performances?

Never. She's dreadful.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

Actually, it's not a bad book. I ended up just reading it and I really liked it.

Any additional comments?

Requires you to stretch your imagination. It's interesting to see a paranormal/urban fantasy based in Christianity. Very unique and creative.

Whispering narrator

I had to know the end of the story but felt like I was tortured through most of the narration of the constant whispering. I understand the insertion of the soft voice is for certain situations but the fact that I had to keep the volume on so high just to hear those whispers tortured me through the entire book

New Twist on Paranormal Romance- Really good story

Any additional comments?

Definitely could have sat through this book in one sitting. Didn't want to put it down. Really good story. Vivid descriptions. I will be purchasing the whole series. Not what you would normally see character wise, but that made it all the better.

Unique Story Evolution from Demonica Series

Ares, or War of the Four Horsemen of the apocalypse, is threatened to become evil as his brother had in Sin Undone. Once all four of the horsemen's (3 brothers & a sister) aegimorti seals are broken, then the apocalypse begins. Rider is dedicated to Ares and the mortal who bears his aegimortis seal. The chemistry between Ares & Cara is fun but nothing compared to earlier Demonica editions dedicated to Eidolon & Shade. Creative twist/continuation to the well enjoyed Demonica series. Sin, Kynan, Reaver, Eidolon, Shade, and Wraith as well as others make appearances.

Hillary Huber does a wonderful job narrating.
