Publisher's summary

In the dark, fear and desire are one.... Alexander Roman wants nothing to do with the controlling rulers of his vampire breed or the family he escaped from a hundred years ago. But as a new threat to the pureblood vampires emerges, Alexander's ties to the past are forced upon him again, and without warning, he finds himself - disoriented, terrified, and near death - at the door of a stranger.

Dr. Sara Donahue is dedicated to removing the traumatic memories of her patients - like those of the stranger at her front door. But what he tells her of his past is too astonishing to believe. Yet she has seen his flesh scarred by the sun and witnessed his inhuman strength. And never before has she felt so connected to a man.... But as their worlds collide, Sara and Alexander are bound by something stronger, as one becomes hunter and the other, prey.

Saucy, Sexy & Steamy!!

I'm one who carefully reads each review in hopes of getting some good insight before spending a credit, so I did my research on this book. I bought it because of the good reviews but especially because one reviewer said it was similar to Jeaniene Frost's work (cat & bones). I have to respectfully disagree. This is a good book though, but I think I might be a tad biased because I absolutely LOVE Frost's books.
Anyway, back on track... This is a start of a really good series, it has all the elements of a good para romance. Tortured guy, angst filled woman all that builds slowly but oh so sexy and steamy into a good read. I must admit I was not prepared for the sex scenes but they were great! This author wrote just enough to make it steamy and sexy without shoving everything in the readers face. I am moving on to book 2 and I definitely RECOMEND this book for all followers of the para rom genre. It also has a very good cliff hanger for the next book. And of course Tavia Gilbert did an excellent job with narration, boy does she have range and talent. I thought by reading this book I might have a bad taste in my mouth about it because Gilbert narrates Frost's books as well but to my surprise and delight, she had completely diff voices for the characters in this book.
HAPPY READING!

I like to put some of my fav authors down for people to read because that is how I find new authors and books to read so here ya go.

Jeaniene Frost - everything
J.R. Rain (Samantha moon series) pararom
Molly Harper everything
Sherrilyn Kenyon (Chronicles of Nick) - I want to try dark hunter series but so many mixed reviews!!
Rachel Vincent (soul screamers)
Rachel Caine (morganville vampire)
Beautiful Creatures series
J.D. Robb (in death series) not paranormal but ohhh so good!

Cheesy with too much foul language

Would you try another book from Laura Wright and/or Tavia Gilbert?

The storyline and presentation is somewhat cheesy and the constant cursing and crudeness of the sex scenes ruined an otherwise interesting plot for me. I would read from boredom only.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Ending does make you want to know what happens in the next story but you can predict a lot of it.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Yes

Did Eternal Hunger inspire you to do anything?

Not Worth Reading!

I was very disappointed in this book. The plot was predictable, and the characters had no depth. Even the love scenes were vanilla, and the author’s use of the “c” word during them really turned me off. I was looking for a good vampire/romance series, and apparently I need to keep looking.

I'll Go Back for Seconds

This book had some rough spots for me, but overall was good enough to make me interested in buying the next book in the series.

What I do like: I like genre vampire fiction, and this book is that. I like dominant male characters, and this book provides that too. I like a happy ending to the love story. That box is ticked as well. The narration, well, it was the usual excellence you can expect from Tavia Gilbert.

What I don't like: Her "world building" for this series is a bit sloppily done. Perhaps it was just me, but I found myself getting a bit confused about "where" the hero or heroine (or both) were, what the order was really like, or exactly what powers the hero possessed after "morpho". It's like she introduced things without explaining or describing them adequately. Another problem for me has been mentioned by others: the use of the c word during the sex scenes. It added this element of crudity to the scenes that I didn't find pleasant or necessary.

Overall, this book was good enough to have gotten my curiosity stirred, and I'll get the next book in the series. It's not the best vamp romance you'll find out there, but it's by far not the worst. Worth your time, but don't expect the earth to move.

Not as good as the night huntress

Would you try another book from Laura Wright and/or Tavia Gilbert?

I like The narration of Tavia Gilbert>

What was most disappointing about Laura Wright’s story?

The explaination of vampire was a bit silly.

Have you listened to any of Tavia Gilbert’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

yes! She did a great job, it was the only thing that kept me listening

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Eternal Hunger?

not sure

happy it was free

Tavia Gilbert is an amazing narrator, I listen to almost all her work, and not even she could save this book. the best part about it was the end, because it was over. The story line is weak, the plot is ridiculous. A huge waste of time and money!

Give this series a try!!

I had not heard of this author but I love the narrator Tavia Gilbert. She is one of my favorite narrators, she does the Cat and Bones books which is one of my all time favorite series so I took a chance on this series and I am glad I did.

Again, another twist on the typical vampire history. I really like these characters and I like that during each book to get to know more characters and their stories but still get follow along with past characters.

I recommend the entire series!! I love finding a new series. I am always afraid after I finish a good series I am not going to find another as good as the last. It is nice to find a new twist.

Fantastic Sexy Listen, Gimme more!

Any additional comments?

If you love JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood and Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed you will enjoy the first book of the series. These Vampires appear to be a little more heated and aggressive. There is a riveting plot that left me wanting for more, so I will be listening to the next book in the series. Most likely...them all.
