Publisher's summary

As the son of a serial killer, homicide detective Thomas “Veck” DelVecchio, Jr., grew up in the shadow of evil. Now, on the knife-edge between civic duty and blind retribution, he atones for the sins of his father - while fighting his inner demons. Assigned to monitor Veck is Internal Affairs officer Sophia Reilly, whose interest in him is both professional and arousingly personal. And Veck and Sophia have another link: Jim Heron, a mysterious stranger with too many answers... to questions that are deadly. When Veck and Sophia are drawn into the ultimate battle between good and evil, their fallen angel savior is the only thing that stands between them and eternal damnation.

Good job JH

in the beginning I struggled to connect to the story. Sometimes this happens...but of course I crossed a point where I couldn't stop listening. Good job JH.

enjoy!

I have enjoyed all the Fallen Angel series. I didn't really expect to be a fan, being dedicated to the Brotherhood series. I am very pleased!

Third in the Series Good twists

I will probably buy all of these in the series. I really enjoyed Covet the best. Didn't enjoy Crave. This one however has some scary and interesting twists. The narrator is perfect for this writing. I don't care for his female voices but I have gotten over it. Covet was more mysterious but Envy is more interesting. All of these books have very graffic sexual content. Tickler at the end...
I am into this series but my background argues with the storyline all the way thru.

Envy: A Novel of the Fallen Anegls

It was indeed a truly amazing grace! Again, to learn of the real consequences of Sissy’s loss of life and innocents through the devil deed. Additionally, how so sad that the girl that Devina killed to sacrifice protection for her security and safety. Was robbed of life and will, freedom, and goodness for the keeps of the devil’s handmade and plot. Also, only for the power of the evil continue raining down here below at the cause of innocent life. It is very wrong, and for the fact that she will have no way out, neither heaven nor purgatory, she cannot get or go into neither. After Sissy has been well done, all that was expected of her from day one only to be killed and sacrifice by a powerful evil being. The loss of another angel from the other book is beginning to take its toll on both Angels remaining in the fight. The death of Eddie made another the archangel to leave his safety and help down below and end up causing his love, pain and suffering. Only for the protection of the body of the fallen Angel. Here in this book, the two main characters, Thomas Veck DelVecchio and Sophia Reilly, also suffered tremendously in the hands of their own trusted friend, who end up betraying them to Devina. Nevertheless, in the end, when it matters, Veck made an excellent choice that ends up saving his life and that of Sophia. Jim Heron let Sissy’s mother know that she will be taken care of no matter what happens.

Different from the "Brotherhood" BUT

If you could sum up Envy: A Novel of the Fallen Angels in three words, what would they be?

Gritty, Suspense, Roller-coaster ride.

What did you like best about this story?

All "The Fallen Angels" series are really dark, darker than the " Brotherhood" in many ways. The eval that the angels are fighting is a OCD maniac, who delights in horrific tortures. Some stuff is described pretty intensely so if you have a weak stomach you might want to pass the series up. But the story line is great and Eric Dove does a great job at narration. Keep going.

What about Eric G Dove’s performance did you like?

I never heard him before this series and he does the voices and emotions of characters really well.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Some intense descriptive act of violence, in this series, some people may be put off by it but the story is so fast moving that you're on to something else before you know it. I am enjoy this series very much.

Mmmm Delvecchio!!

This book set me on fire!! I was ever so ready for Thomas Delvecchio's story---the son of a murderer....what a life. If you haven't gotten hooked on the fallen angels series after books 1 & 2, this one will most definitely get you!

love this series

this series is very entertaining, the character's seem very real, you can sympathise with them. Like you are right there with them, the writer brings the character's to life, and you become part of this story.

great love story!

Some how I messed up my reading order and skipped the book before this one. However, I was able to follow along just perfectly. I'm looking forward to the next book and follow along with Jims adventures and trying to save his Sissy.
