Publisher's summary

The worldwide phenomenon continues as Eva and Gideon face the demons of their pasts and accept the consequences of their obsessive desires.... From the moment I first met Gideon Cross, I recognized something in him that I needed. Something I couldn’t resist. I also saw the dangerous and damaged soul inside - so much like my own. I was drawn to it. I needed him as surely as I needed my heart to beat. No one knows how much he risked for me. How much I’d been threatened, or just how dark and desperate the shadow of our pasts would become.

Entwined by our secrets, we tried to defy the odds. We made our own rules and surrendered completely to the exquisite power of possession....

Steamy Conclusion to a Popular Trilogy??? what?

This is such a hard review for me to write. I was so excited to read the “Steamy Conclusion to a Popular Trilogy” as described by Audible. Imagine my surprise to learn that this trilogy is NOT in fact a trilogy and this is NOT in fact the conclusion. Oh it’s steamy, but there is no real ending. Turns out there are in fact 2 more books planned. I must admit I felt cheated. (especially by the author's end comment)

All that aside, this installment was very much like the last one for me. It ran both HOT and COLD. At times the story was really flowing…we were getting answers and some real advancements in the plot. However, most of the time it just felt like so much fluff and filler. I didn’t really care for most of the subplots with the secondary characters either. And as a side note, I really dislike Bret!

I’m giving this one 3 stars for Jill Redfeld’s brilliant narration and for the hot and steamy sections.

I would title it "Bored with You"

Story - Okay, it's my fault. I listened to Bared to You and Reflected in You and didn't learn my lesson about this series. The problem is that I love the story of Ava and Gideon, their tortured pasts and their hot chemistry... but I'm getting really bored with the constant sex. There's a saying that applies here, "Less is more."

The first two books had a great story line but in this one the story stagnates. Except for some good stuff toward the end, it's all over the place with side characters and little filler subplots. Why? This isn't the conclusion to the trilogy we expected, so the author adds stupid fluff to stretch the series. Think about this ... five books for a romance??? I'm torn whether to continue with the series. I want to see everything tied up with a big happy bow, but I fear Gideon and Ava will just F*#& for 15 of the next 20 book-hours and then die stuck together.

Narrator - Love the narrator. She's got a velvety, sexy voice, and she can do a pretty good guy voice too! Her performance lends class to the story.

Overall - If you like lots and lots of steamy sex, you will love this book. Otherwise, you might find it boring.

Thank Goodness It's NOT Over yet!!

I'm a bit surprised that some feel cheated and ripped off that this is NOT the last in the Eva and Gideon saga, but I for one am thrilled that there are at least 2 more books to follow. I love the subplots, and I want to know more about their crazy parents, families and exes, the female cop, Cary, Megumi and the 2 "drivers" who are more special ops bodyguards extraordinaire than chauffeurs. If Ms. Day had limited this to just 3 books, I think most of us would have lamented that it was all over and would have wanted her to do at least a couple of spin-off series with Gideon and Eva cameos and updates. My only gripe is that I didn't catch the story a few years from now so I could just listen to them all at one time, but that's pretty much always the way it goes. I can't wait to see what she spins for the next books, but I'm kind of hoping for a Magdalena or Megumi/Brett hookup and lots of comeuppance for G's mom, the pediatrician, half-brother and anyone else who needs it.

As for the writer being "greedy," please. I would have paid a credit, and many would have paid retail of $29.95 without a blink AND been happy with more books in the series. Through Audible, this is absolutely worth a credit, though it's cheaper by cash and a total bargain to get the 3 audiobooks for under $30.

Gideon and Eva are entwined for good

Gideon and Eva are done dancing around their relationship. They have matured and are putting each other first. No more running away when things look bad. Okay, there are doubts and worries, but these are two damaged people overcoming their pasts and striving for a solid future. The sexual attraction that first drew them together has evolved into something much deeper and meaningful(but still sizzling!)

To rebut the complainers:
The ending is abrupt, but no more than in Bared to You and Reflected in You.
There are loose ends, but no cliffhanger.
The publisher sets the release date. Sylvia gave us snippets and there were snapshots to keep up interest during the wait.
The author decides how many books are needed to tell the story in her head. If you want to read the book before deciding to buy it, patronize your local library. Accusing an author of being greedy is just plain rude.

If I like a book enough to relisten to it and I want to own it, it rates 5 stars. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
Jill Redfield did an outstanding job with the delivery of the story.

Please put me out of my misery

I do love this series and I did love this book too, BUT I'm ready for a conclusion. I can handle the trilogys but it seems that everyting coming out now is a trilogy and I'm getting tired of it. Yes like I said this one was as good as the previous books but you can prolong something too long and it's time for this one to come to a satisfying conclusion. I will say it was worth my credit.

Where Is The Gideon We All Fell In Love With????

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I just expected more of Brett and Ava, I wanted Gideon to be that powerful man not this sunshine and bunnies crap

Would you ever listen to anything by Sylvia Day again?

Yes

What about Jill Redfield’s performance did you like?

I love Jill Redfield's performaince. I look for anything that she reads becaused she always does a great job. She is just readining what Day wrote.

What character would you cut from Entwined With You?

Magdalana please. What was the purpose of even bringing her up.

Any additional comments?

Shame on the publisher for drawing this out for profits. I know this book could have been complete by the third book. I don’t like that Ava is such a pushover!! Though I would miss them I don’t like having to wait ANOTHER YEAR for another drag on drama. A lot of this was fluff and it was very disappointing. I just want the MAN Gideon back. I didn’t feel him at all in Entwined. And they don’t have to have sex every time they are together.

Unhappy and disappointed

Would you try another book from Sylvia Day and/or Jill Redfield?

No, I will not try any more books from this author. I felt there was no storyline, and I expected to have a good ending, not to wait for another book to come out. I wasted my credit, on a book that I was so excited to come out and end up very unhappy and disappointed. I was very happy with the narrator, I like her and feel bad that she had to narrated this book.

Has Entwined With You turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, I will give it a try to different authors.

What three words best describe Jill Redfield’s performance?

excellent
good narrator
nice voice

Do you think Entwined With You needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Oh no please, the storyline was bad in this book, in my opinion. It should have end it with the first book.

Any additional comments?

This is my first book to give a book review. I did it because the book is awful, I am so disappointed. save your credit.

THE ROLLER COASTER LOVE STORY CONTINUES

I love Sylvia Day books and they are an automatic download for me - and these Crossfire books have been exceptional and just yummy.

I found that this book, rather than having one main plot, seemed to have either lots of little sub plots going on or Eva and Gideon were entwined with each other over and over and over again. It seemed to be a book that laid down lots of foundations for future events with few events to call it's own. However, I did find those few events entertaining, frustrating, romantic and hot but.... there was just a little too much sex and not quite enough dialogue.

Worth a credit? Yes, no matter what - I'm hooked........ and eagerly awaiting the next 2 instalments.
