Audrey Parker is up against the boards. She's stuck in a job she hates and pining for a total jerk. Meanwhile, her sister Fallon is moving out and getting married to hockey star Lucas Brooks. Where is Audrey's Prince Charming? Nothing she does has ever seemed to be good enough for any of the men in her life. Audrey's about to hit rock bottom…until she wakes up next to Tate Odder.
"The thrill of moving up from the minors to the Nashville Assassins was a welcome distraction. But not even becoming the first rookie goalie to tally three shutouts in the Stanley Cup finals alleviates the pain. With the loss of his parents and sister weighing as heavily on his soul as ever, Tate Odder can't keep pretending he's okay. That's when he meets smart, sexy Audrey. Her gentle warmth and quirky sense of humor make him feel whole for the first time in too long. But to stay that way forever, Tate must find a way to accept his past and learn to live for love.

The story wasn't bad, but as a lifelong hockey fan, a couple of things were like nails on a blackboard. The accents were bad to start with, but Patrick Roy's name does not match the Roy in Roy Rogers, and Vezina does not rhyme with Messina. The accent is on the first syllable, not the second. Those jolted my ear enough that I actually had to stop, back up and listen again to be sure what I was hearing.
Books Make Me HAPPY
I first started falling in love with Audrey in book 2. She was such a huge support for her big sister and her love of cupcakes just makes me happy (maybe because I do too). Her abusive relationship was revealed in book two and I started hoping she would find a true love of her own. When Tate arrived in her life I believed she just might have found her forever. Never in a million years did I think Levi would make an appearance and Audrey's life would be in turmoil. I relate to this Audrey so much and truly enjoyed every second of her love story.
