When an assassin tries to kill undercover DEA agent Tucker Pankov the same week his boss is taken out, Tucker has good reason to be paranoid. And when other members of his elite team are not only targeted but stripped of top secret security clearance, Tucker has one shot at discovering who wants them dead and why. So he kidnaps the only woman he thinks can save them.
Brilliant NSA analyst Karen Stafford doesn't like being forced into anything, especially by someone she doesn't trust. Yet after a hijacked US-owned drone starts attacking government installations, resulting in mass casualties, Karen has to take Tucker's side. Now, two unlikely allies must unite to prevent an escalating and unthinkable terrorist conspiracy. But as Tucker and Karen grow intimate, they realize that the conspiracy runs deep and their enemies are closer than anyone realized.
Contains mature themes.

So, I finished this book at 3:00 this morning and I have to tell you it’s my favorite of the Deadly Ops series. There seemed to be excitement on every page. I said the last book was the best but I take that back. THIS is the best of all of them.
There was a lot of sexual tension without being overdone. The first book, Targeted, there was something sexual on every page, just about. But this one had the right amount of everything.
And even though Karen had a TSTL moment it didn’t last long and she did help herself out of it.
And the characters were simply awesome. The good: Tucker, Karen, Cole, Burkhart, Kane, Brooks, Padilla, and I was sorry about Max Southers. The Bad: Hillenbrand, Rayford, and the awful DEA agent that I’m not naming.
I have to admit that Tucker was a killing machine, never letting the bad guys get the drop on him and killing without regret. He was one terrific hero. And Karen was a wonderful heroine. She never said stupid things like, “did you have to kill him?” She was an analyst for the NSA but she was never a damsel in distress.
I loved this book.
The F-BOMB was used 76 times and I think every one of them was necessary. But I know how some of you are. So, if you don’t like swearing don’t buy this book.
As to the narrator: Sophie Eastlake is one of my favorites! The men sound like men and that's the most important to me, and she reads with emotions, which some narrators do not. I'm always happy when I see she's reading the audible I'm buying.
I am Tammy Payne. I am an avid book reader and I also have a book blog :)
I love print equally but wow the audio edition was fantastic. The narrator / voice was spot on in bringing this story to life.
When the team along with Karen are trying to get Burkhart on their side. Tucker is determined to get his team back in good standings.
She brings the story to life. Each character is like right in front of you or talking to you.
Deadly Ops Redemption
Say something about yourself!
I love this story, it is my favorite I think. I enjoyed hearing about all the guys. The action was great, the love story was wonderful. I hope to hear more about the other 3 hero's soon.
With more than 1600 audio books to hitchhike along with, I've realized only now that I started "reviewing"...boy I need to catch up!
I think this one's my favorite really! Right from the beginning there's enough to relax your mind, get a feel for the guys, follow along and WHAM! Off to races-the racing hearts that is....who is after who, did you hear that noise...will they escape, will they get the girl, will they survive what the world thinks of them?!? Awesome - can't wait for Ortiz's story to download next in 4,3,2....bye!!
I like Sophie Eastlakes narrations although the male voice sounded snobby. Characters were hard to follow who was who. Too many characters with names that were hard to remember.
It was good, not great.

Truly my favorite so far. I LOVED this couple. Great twists and suspense mixed with electric attraction. Hard to put down !!!!
This is a great book; this is the fourth book in the Deadly Ops Series written by Katie Reus and narrated by Sophie Eastlake. This book can be read as a standalone, but once you read/listen to this one you will want to go back and read the other books in this series. Tucker Pankov is an undercover DEA agent. When an assassin tries to kill him and also targets other members of his elite team he is determined do anything he can to save them. Karen Stafford is an NSA analyst, when a US drone is hijacked and starts attacking government installations she decides to work with Tucker to stop the terrorist. If you are looking for a great mystery, with suspense then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
The narrator Sophie Eastlake did a great job with this book, and it was very easy to listen to. She did a great job with the different voices of each character in this book. It was very easy to listen to in one sitting and I didn’t want to stop listening until the end.
If you are looking for a great book with great characters then you need to listen to this book. I am looking forward to listening to the next book by this author and narrator.
A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
Tucker and his elite team have dedicated their lives to protect the country that they love. Now their being set up to take the fall for a deadly terrorist attacks. Also, someone killed their mentor, Max. Who is behind it and what is their ultimate objective? Tucker is determined to find out. He needs to contact Wesley Burkhart the one person that Max trusted. He kidnaps Karen, one of Wesley's top analysts. He'll get her to call her boss and they'll work together to find the culprit. A solid plan. What could go wrong? Everything! The danger ramps up as their enemy is determined to stop anyone that gets in their way. Now they are running for their lives. I was hooked from the start. The characters are amazing. Tucker is a strong man who risks his life to protect the innocent. He's attracted to Karen and amazed by her courage and dedication. She may be afraid but she'll stay with him and do what needs to be done. I love a strong female who's not afraid to go after what she wants. Karen is more than a match for Tucker. The story is well plotted and the political intrigue is realistic. The action is non-stop and filled with surprising twists and turns. Washington DC provides the perfect setting for this thriller. The secondary characters add to the intrigue. I enjoy the Deadly Ops series and always look forward to Katie Reus's releases. Sophie Eastlake does her usual excellent job with the narration. The audiobooks add such depth and emotion to Edge of Danger.
What I'm Reading
Definitely YES! Because Sophie does a wonderful job at narrating the story. Plus, the story is heart pounding good.
I have only listened to this series and I'm glad she has kept reading for this series.
Oh yeah, if I could I totally would.
Edge of Danger is phenomenal. Totally blows me away on how this story just sucks you in. Heart pounding, edge of your seat read. Karen and Tucker are awesome. The more you get to know these two, and just go "WOW! They are awesome!" Yes, LOVED Edge of Danger it's a re-listening kind of story.
Good Books Don't Promote Violence
While I loved the strong but gentle Tucker, I really enjoyed Karen who was strong, smart and feisty. Finally an independent female character who doesn't allow herself to be abused or dominated by a selfish alpha jerk.
Tucker is caring & thoughtful, a true hero who only hits the bad guys and would never bully or intimidate a women. Edge of Danger entertains with action, suspense and romance as well as humor. What a nice surprise!
