A love story of the purest kind!
If you love the setting and style of Jane Austin, you will likely love this romantic tale! Great character development! It wasmt long until Marinanne and Phillip were dear friends of mine! I was sad to have it end!

This is a beautiful love story. I stayed up late twice to finish it the first time I read it (I've now read it many times and I've stayed up late each time lol). The heroine is very relatable for me. She's strong, but insecure at the same time. Smart, but sheltered. She didn't really know how to take a compliment and assumes she's being teased when someone flirts with her. The banter between the two main characters is great. It reminded me very much of my husband's and my "courtship" we got together despite me lol. I also love that both main characters have morals, something that seems to be lacking or even "out of style" nowadays. When someone asks me what my favorite book is, it's The Wall of Winnipeg and Me (they say the f-bomb in that a lot, so if that bothers you, then you may want to skip it), Pride and Prejudice, and this one. When life has me down, or I just want a good book to read. I come "home" to these books, and this is always the first of the three I reach for. I'm in my thirties, but I first read it when I was in my twenties. I've shared it with my parents and friends who loved it just as much as I did. I read it at least once every year. I first read it on my kindle, then purchased the audio book, then the CD, then the paper book. I highly recommend this book!

My favorite Proper Romance book!
Fantastic story! I loved it. I could scarcely put it down, and I looked for books by this author immediately after completing this one. It got a little too dramatic and unrealistic at the end for me when she was SPOILER ALERT kidnapped and how the rest played out just right, but I’m sure I will be reading this one again!

Intriguing , clean romance
This is a fast paced love story that keeps you engaged. The beginning is probably my most least favorite, but it definitely picks up speed quickly and has you guessing the outcome.
