Publisher's summary

A demon enslaved.

Lore is a Seminus half-breed demon who has been forced to act as his dark master's assassin. Now to earn his freedom and save his sister's life, he must complete one last kill. Powerful and ruthless, he'll stop at nothing to carry out this deadly mission.

An angel tempted.

Idess is an earthbound angel with a wild side, sworn to protect the human Lore is targeting. She's determined to thwart her wickedly handsome adversary by any means necessary-even if that means risking her vow of eternal chastity. But what begins as a simple seduction soon turns into a passion that leaves both angel and demon craving complete surrender.

Torn between duty and desire, Lore and Idess must join forces as they battle their attraction for each other. Because an enemy from the past is rising again-one hellbent on vengeance and unthinkable destruction.

Amazed!

Ok, all of the demonica books are really great, but I'm taking the time to review this one specifically. In most cases i don't like to hear a romance novel read by a male narrator. To me it just feels wrong. In this audiobook, the narrator did a great job. Usually I can tell right off, but in this one the reading was so smooth that I didn't even notice until halfway through. Love the series, love the author, and love the narrator. A must listen!

Not and ordinary Angel and Demon story.

Great characters, action, sex and unique story line. So far in the Demonica series all the narrators have been okay and this one is no different only a male narrator. I don't recommend this series out of order, but I am happy to have found it. This is another excellent addition and if you are reading this hopefully you have read all the others first. I also enjoyed Lord of the Underworld series by Gena Showalter which is similar to this series.

Loved it! Every Bit!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Highly Recommend! After reading all the negative reviews regarding the narration, I debated about downloading this book but I’m so eager to get through this series so that I can get back to the Lords of Deliverance (which is where I started the saga with Eternal Rider) so I took a chance. I cringed a little at first, due to what I’d already read about the narrator, but then I was absolutely entertained from then on. I found the narration quite good, made me laugh in lots of places but it was sooo great to hear the male characters as MALES and not females doing that god-awful gravely thing to make themselves sound like a man. The plot was terrific as always and I have to say that so far Lore and Idess are my favorite couple next to Eidolon and Tayla. Great work and so very addictive.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lore. I enjoy it when the author explores the motivations of the hero and Ione does a fantastic job here. Lore is so very complex, his situation so menacing you can't help but wonder how he could ever make a relationship work with any woman. She really does a great job of presenting him and making the reader understand him.

Which scene was your favorite?

All the scenes between the brothers, but I can't decide if it's the scene with Lore holding his little nephew Raid after they rescued him or the scene when Shade meets Sin for the first time.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Idess had to leave. She didn't want to and Ione really made you feel how much she didn't want to, but Idess lived up to what was expected of her and you had to admire and respect her for that.

Any additional comments?

Great work! Loved the narrator! Moving on to Sin Undone!

Excellent Series!

Larissa Ione is a brilliant writer and this series is one of my favorite. This is book 4 in the Demonica series, and it is another excellent edition. Larissa does a great job developing the characters and having them grow during each series. This book is about Lore and Idess. Lore is a hard assassin, but he has loving and caring side. Idess is a beautiful angel who is trying to earn her wings by protecting Lore. Lore is a newly discovered brother to Eiodlin, Shade and Wraith from the first 3 books in this series. This book has some good twists and turns which keep your attention glued to the book. The only downside to this book is the narrator. He is fine reading male characters, but his reading of the female characters is a bit annoying. I wish they would have kept the same narrator from book 1 throughout the series.

New reader! New storyline!

Reader was horrible! Just horrible.

The first three books were more interesting then this one! I don’t know what happened in this but it got lost! Very disappointed on this one and I loved the first three books. Not a fan of Sin and I’m scared to her her story. SCARED!

great book, narrator "Meh"

loved the book... The narrator made Lore sound like a gay uptight man, totally ruined the audio for me. The " Males " in the book are very powerful and strong, he portrayed them like... Hi I'm Skipper and me and my boyfriend Blane are shoping and then getting massagesssss and a mohito... SO bad! The first 3 books with women narrators are soooooooo much better. He would be perfect for a glee audio book, but not a sexy demon book like this.

Great story Melodramatic presentation

I enjoyed the story well enough to Finish it. Paul Boemer's presentation reminded me of a 1900 villain with a long waxy mustache about to put the heroine on a railroad track. Very distracting performance. I almost ask for a refund. Read it if you love the series but be prepared to struggle through it.

Terrible Narrator

I love this series, but I don't think I can finish this book because of the terrible narration. I have only listened to seven minutes and I am already annoyed. I just can't understand why a guy was chosen (especially this one) when all the other books have been narrated by females. He draws out sentences and has weird pauses. I am seriously disappointed!
