Eclipse Bay has grown and flourished on the rugged Oregon coast, where the shore can be rocky and forbidding, full of sharp cliffs and hidden coves. But this small town is also filled with secrets as treacherous as the landscape - and rivalries as fierce as an ocean storm....
Their grandfathers hated each other. Their fathers hated each other. And as the next generation of Hartes and Madisons, Hannah and Rafe are expected to hate each other too. But Hannah Harte - a successful wedding consultant with a skeptical view of marriage - remembers the long-ago night on the beach that revealed Rafe as much more than just "that disreputable Madison boy". And Rafe remembers the heroic gesture that proved Hannah's fierce spirit was stronger than any feud - and saved him from near-certain imprisonment.
Now - reunited by a surprising inheritance after years of living their separate lives - Rafe and Hannah return to Eclipse Bay, and the hostilities that still divide, and bind, their families. And they are discovering something that is at once delightful and deeply disturbing: they don't hate each other. Not at all....

I love books! Audiobooks take stories to the next level. I'm obsessed with Audible and will try to rate all of my books. Happy Listening! ;)
This is the story of Hannah and Rafe. Their families hated each other and they continued the tradition. They inherit a property together and they discover that they don't hate each other after all. There are many twist and turns on this story and lots of suspense. I could never figure out who the bad guy who was trying to harm Hanna was. I couldn't stop listening to this story and I finished it in 3 days. Usually it takes me about a week.
The narrator did a good job with this story and I look forward to listening to the next book in this series and more books narrated by Joyce Bean.
12 step program please. I am addicted to Audible! I love trashy sexy books, award winning novels and everything between. Bring it!
So I was looking for a distraction and this book provided just that. It is a nice listen, nothing too heavy, and even has a light crime mystery angle. The romantic development was nice, not a bodice riper.
Maybe a different narrator, but I couldn't get into it.
No, but I've been a member for 2 years and this is only the second book I couldn't finish.
Hannah. But I think it was the narrator. Her voice reminded me of the blonde bimbo on Liar Liar.
I just could get into it. I didn't feel the passion.
This predictable story with emotionally stunted characters was a great disappointment. I hoped to like it as I know the Oregon coast well, but the locale plays a minimal role in the story. The "mystery" is transparent and relies on far fetched circumstances to reach resolution.
The two primary characters are frustratingly immature. Their romance is utterly unbelievable. Hannah is selfish, bossy, prissy and obsessed with what other people think. Rafe is the troubled grandson of the local rake who fell for Hannah 8 years ago after a chance encounter. My sister once described someone she met as being so shallow, she could walk through their soul and never get her ankles wet. I think she was talking about Hannah and Rafe.
Grandpa Mitchell's usual exclamation is "well shoot and damn." If you find that a likely expression for a salty old rogue, you may find this book credible.
Honestly, except for a couple of brief, laughable sex scenes, I would guess this was written for young adults. Poorly written for young adults. I have not read any Harlequin Romances, but this book is exactly what I would expect from that publisher.
The narrator was OK, but unfortunately did not have much to work with.
Good and short.
I liked the Arcane Society Series better.
I thought he was fine.
A tangled web of deception
I was having a hard time staying awake through the first book and only made it half way through the second download. Painful narration and boring story line. Sadly, would not recommend.
I simply could NOT listen to this book. The narration was absolutely horrendous.
To be honest... I did not get very far into this reading and cannot rate the story. Had I been able to submit this review without doing so, I would have, but this review process required that all three sections be filled in before I could comment and submit.
Her attempts to alter her voice for the two primary characters were terrible. The male sounded like an 80-year-old woman who had smoked her whole life and the female sounded petulant. Neither character came across as remotely attractive -a necessary quality in any romance novel.
Avoid this narrator at all costs -or at least this book as performed by her.
