Publisher's summary

Grace Peterson is desperate, in hiding, and on the run after escaping a shadowy group determined to exploit her extraordinary ability to heal others. Her only lifeline - an unerring telepathic ability she shares with her sister - has been severed, leaving her alone and vulnerable. And time is running out....

Enlisted to bring Grace home is Rio, relentless member of the KGI. He's unprepared for his reaction to this wounded, damaged woman, and he's fiercely determined to protect her from those who nearly destroyed her.

In Rio, she finds a safe haven, and for the first time, hope. But the mission is far from over. The danger Grace has eluded is fast closing in. And now it's pitching two lovers toward an unfamiliar horizon, with no place left to hide.

Rio and Grace, *sigh*

Romantic suspense with a hint of the paranormal. Not as in werewolves or vampires, but as in telepathy and psychic healing. An interesting twist. I liked it. But, our romantic hero in this book wasn't one of the Kelly brothers. Rio, who I think of as the Latin lover, is the hero of this book. Don't ask me why I have always thought of Rio as a Latin lover. Stereo typing maybe. He may be a lover, Latin or otherwise, but he is definitely all warrior. As quickly as he fell for Grace, the 'Latin lover' label does seem to fit. He fell fast and he fell hard. I think it was rather sweet. Now Grace, she is one awesome lady! I see her taking charge of not only Rio, but his entire team! A good story with lots of action.

Best Yet!!

Thought nothing could top Shea/Nathan's book but Rio/Grace's have done it. I loved Rio in the other books and was not disappointed in his story. My favorite KGI audio so far. Wish Audible add the series in book order instead of the skipping the first two books (Sam/Sophie and Ethan/Rachel books), hopefully these books will be added soon.

Rio and Grace are Golden!!

What made the experience of listening to Echoes at Dawn the most enjoyable?

Harry Berkeley's performance captures your attention and you are just hooked!! Each character had a distinctive voice and personality.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Not surprisingly, Rio and Grace are my favorite characters. Elizabeth ran a very close second.

Have you listened to any of Harry Berkeley’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to one of Harry Berkeley's other performances, a KGI novel. He was excellent narrator in both.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were 3 moments that moved me in the story. All dealing with young Elizabeth.
First was the strength of character of the little girl Elizabeth, despite all the hell that she had been through. Her strength actually helped Grace bear the strain of healing her.
Second moment was when Rio embraced and comforted Elizabeth in the midst of both their fear and sorrow.
Third was when Elizabeth ran to Grace in her hospital room and only rested when she knew she was safe in her "mother's" arms. Then Grace and Rio decided to raise Elizabeth

Any additional comments?

I hope he performs the rest of the audio books in the series!

Its a Formula and it works

Most romance genre books have a formula that most authors stick to and the series have a formula that the authors stick to. This one is no different. Solid strong male lead, female lead with issues that could prevent her from seeing the love the male lead has to give if you look under the gruff exterior. She finally sees the light and they live happily ever after. This formula suited this book. The characters were charming in their own way and the love story was believable for this genre. The side stories were just as enjoyable. I enjoyed the listen and look forward to more from Maya Banks in this series.

a very tender story for Grace ad Rio

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed reading this story. I would like to have had a bit more realistic emotions from Grace and Rio, however, I still loved it!!
There were several scenes that evoked such tenderness and love between the characters. I enjoyed hearing Rio's tenderness during their first time together.
