Publisher's summary

They call him the Devil....

He is the most notorious laird of Scotland: fierce, cold, deadly...and maybe even worse. Yet Evelinde has just agreed to wed him. Anything, she thinks, is better than her cruel stepmother. Though Evelinde should be wary of the rumors, she can't help but be drawn to this warrior...for the Devil of the Highlands inspires a heat within her that is unlike anything she has ever known.

They may call him whatever they wish, but Cullen, Laird of Donnachaidh, cares only for the future of his clan. He must find a wife, a woman to bear him sons and heed his commands. He has no need for beauty or grace, but one taste of his lovely bride's sweet lips and the sultry feel of her skin arouse an untamed passion. Perhaps there's more to marriage than he thought.

What a great story!

I loved everything about this story. It begins with a comical meeting of the soon to be married pair. Then classic issues of an age old problem men and women innately seem to struggle with, understanding the opposite sex. I felt my past rewind through the same common lack of understanding that's left couples through centuries of time scratching their heads. The story had just the right mix of intrigue, passion, comedy and social struggles anyone could relate to. I loved it!

Good story

If you could sum up Devil of the Highlands in three words, what would they be?

Not period proper?

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Loved it

What about Marianna Palka’s performance did you like?

I liked her

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When they first met in the glen

Any additional comments?

I am not sure if the author kept her story in the right time period. But nonetheless the story was perfect for the price

story was better than it seemed

Narration was bland and monotone, for the most part. Made the story seem boring. Sad.

Good book, disliked the narration

Excellent story line, throughly enjoyed the story itself but it was a chore to make it through the narration. I wish they would have continued using Mary Jane Wells, she would have brought fire to this story.

Very Enjoyable

I seem to be in the minority here, but I particularly enjoyed the narrator. There was occasional inconsistency in the character voices, but over all it was lovely to listen too. She has a distinct Scottish accent which added to the story.

I'll admit that I read and enjoyed this book before getting the audio book, and I enjoyed it very much, but I am a fan of Lynsay Sands' books.

The Narrator

I really loved the story and only finished the book because of this but the Narrator voice was awful ! Her voice made me think of a school child reading for the class. Very disappointing!

Worth reading - twice

This is a great highlander novel. You gotta love the devil, and his lady is perfect. It takes him awhile to figure out that he needs to communicate but once he does, he does it well.
