I usually only buy books that have been heavily reviewed so I can form an opinion before I make purchase. When I saw this one the synopsis intrigued me so I figured I would be guinea pig for this one......fool I.
Where do I begin? First off....the narrator.....she's not very good and I'm being very charitable choosing these words. I'm thinking this might be her first try at Scottish accents and she needs more practice but the reading was just bad.
Second, the story is ok and I think I would enjoy reading the book, the plot is good and mildly developed but the intimate scenes are skimpy and vague so if you don't like overtly erotic books you will enjoy this one. Some books can be overly explicit but I would describe tis one borderline YA.
Lastly, I stuck with it because I started to like the characters inspite of the horrible personalities they were given by the narrator and I felt the author deserved a chance. It's not a stellar book but I have read worse.
My advice, if you like light historical romance choose the book and don't waste a credit.
A better narrater....Allison Cope should NEVER read another scottish story she sound like there is stuff in her mouth..
I have never written a review...but I would not want any one to waste a credit...only if it is free would you want to listen.
