Publisher's summary

Held captive in a basement prison, wrapped in silver chains, the vampire Gideon is too weak to fight the monster who enslaves him. For years, she’s tapped his precious blood like a fountain of youth - sustaining him with human females she captures for his pleasure. But with the latest victim she brings him, he senses something intriguingly different. Something dangerous, yet oh-so-tempting. Kay Alissano is no ordinary woman. Every full moon, she must answer the call of the wild - unleashing the wolf within. As daughter of the Shadow Pack’s Alpha, Kay is extremely powerful - and when she’s offered up to Gideon, she doesn’t surrender easily. In wolf form, she might be able to unchain Gideon’s heart and set them both free - if only he can resist the urge to consume her, body and soul, before the next full moon.…

3.5 STAR LUKEWARM PNR LISTEN THAT'S JUST OK

It had all the things I love in a PNR book - hot handsome vampire (lovely), werewolves (a good addition), a storyline that sounded interesting filled with some evil characters, and, of course, written by one of my favorite authors. So imagine my disappointment when I was seriously underwhelmed with this listen.

It started off well and was enjoyable, but half way through all the holes in the plot began to appear and the "errr what...?" moments started happening - like the hero vampire continually changes into a werewolf! There are so many WhatTH moments and WhyTH decisions made, during their 4th or 5th capture and subsequent storyline, that I just lost interest in them and the eventual outcome. Sadly, there's hardly any passion and the sex scenes are YA at best.

Worth a credit? If you are like me and you like your vampires on the dark brooding alpha side and the plot contains some sexy passionate moments and/or some hot n heavy bits - then I'm sorry to say this is a definite NO - but if you like a light easy-going listen that won't strain your brain then go ahead and download it.

Desire the Night, was a good book. written with talent for good story lines and impressive character zeal. Fell in love with it.

Meh...

I am a big fan of PNR books with vampires and shifters, and this audiobook has both, so I thought it sounded intriguing. Boy, was I wrong!

It had potential with the attraction between the protagonists and the story of them being vampire and shifter, but it never really came through. It was just boring and lacked a lot of fun, spunk and hot, steamy and sexy scenes.
Sometimes you can overlook the dull romance if the book has a great story, but it did not. It was just weird and incoherent.
I also found the female protagonist a bit timid, spiritless and annoying, which is for me a big turn-off in PNR. I like it when the female is kick-ass and is a bit more out-spoken.

The narrator did not help the matter. I found her mediocre and characterless.

To sum up: For me this audiobook was not worth the credit!

good idea

the promise of the story was a good idea. however, I don't find that the story was written as well as it could have been written. all together it was frustrating to get through.
