New To Audible, not a new release (Spoilers)

Would you listen to Demon from the Dark again? Why?

Yes, Because the story keeps my attention and the narrator does a great job creating the characters they way they were written.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Since I love the whole series it's hard to pick just one character since most of them have some roll or another to play in each book. If I had to choose just one from this story it would have to be Carro over Slain because the character although having her own sad issues didn't succumb to a victim mentality.

Which scene was your favorite?

The one where Slain finally gets a clue and goes to the cabin to see Carro and Ruby are packing up to leave. The emotion Slain goes through when he thinks they're leaving him serves him right even if he's wrong.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Ruby getting separated from Carro in the cave, and Carro getting Slain to help as well as his shock and astonishment of Carro's devotion to the girl.

Any additional comments?

I read this book so long ago that when it was billed as a new release I got excited and downloaded it. Normally I hate it when that happens but I loved the story enough that hearing it this time was like the first time all over. There's a difference in the terms New Release and New to Audible. If there's a way to tell the difference with out having to look in my nook or audible libraries first I'd love to know it.

Loved it!!

Any additional comments?

Great author, great book, great narrator! KC has created such an amazing world in IAD. Each character is unique and intriguing. My favorite part are the strong females and the alpha males of course. There couldn't be a more amazingly perfect narrator for this series. I love his cadence and the accents. One of my favorites!!

Intensely Deep!

It is impossible not to fall in love with Malcolm. He's damaged; been through so much deceit, trauma, and abuse. Throughout it all he has remained stalwart and loyal. He's never fallen and is truth personified. Caro is a lucky witch to be mated to such an honest vemon. A truly beautiful story. I look forward to more on Ruby.

Can I just have a Robert Petkoff of my own?!

A superlative story voiced by a bone-melting, thigh-clenching lip god. Petkoff is MASTERFUL of all dialects, genders, emotions, pacing, tones...oh my stars, people, he just pets your soul in just. the. right. way.

Another riveting story from the Lohr.

This latest adventure from the imagination of Kresley Cole is faultlessly performed by Robert Petkoff. It is a masterful combination which enables me to become totally engrossed in the story. I can hardly wait for the next one.

Favorite Narrator and a Favorite Series

Like most of her immortals, Malcolm was dealt a real crappy hand in life. As a boy, his mother sold him to a vampire with a preference for children. He was used in the most horrid way until he got too old for the nasty vamp and then tossed aside.

Years later, Malcolm is captured by a vampire and forced into a new existence, that of a Vemon. Now an outcast and abomination, he lives his life in solitude and killing anything that threatens his survival. Until the day a green-eyed beauty makes his heart beat...

Carrow is living the life until she's abducted by a human intent on destroying immortals. Suddenly she becomes the guardian of a little girl and is forced to betray a Vemon, who happens to be her mate. After a rocky start and a language barrier between them, she develops feelings for her Vemon. Lust, I mean love, is a universal language! She just has to figure out a way to keep her Vemon and get Ruby back before it's too late.

My heart went out to Malcolm, Carrow and little Ruby. They were put into difficult situations and they each got hurt by them. In the end though, they found a family with each other. I especially loved Malcolm with Ruby, it was so darned cute and sweet! Another great book in the IAD series, and as usual Robert Petkoff really brings these characters to life. One book closer to THE book. You know, that one I've been looking forward to since HE was introduced in the series.

Lead male char sounds like Arnold Schwarzenegger

Would you consider the audio edition of Demon from the Dark: Immortals After Dark, Book 10 to be better than the print version?

I love Kresley's books. I like this book too. But the narrator, who I am a fan of also, decided on an accent and voice exactly like Arnold Schwarzenegger. I'm not really into that type of man, so it's hard to take whatever the lead male says seriously. It takes you out of the story sometimes since it's sooo like the actor.

What did you like best about this story?

The little girl Ruby

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

yes

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Ruby bonding with lead male character

Any additional comments?

Hard to get past the Arnold Schwarzenegger voice/speech.

AMAZING

Would you consider the audio edition of Demon from the Dark: Immortals After Dark, Book 10 to be better than the print version?

Yes. Robert Petkoff's narration is AMAZING.

Who was your favorite character and why?

One of my favorite novels in the Immortals After Dark series. Malkom, the Vemon (Demon and Vampire mix) love interest, is so far from having that perfect life prior to meeting Carrow. He's not a prince to any dark realm, he's doesn't come from a family with multiple sisters and brothers... In fact, when he meets Carrow, he doesn't even have any friends. There's no luxury in his life at all. He mother sold him into slavery when he was a boy, and later in life, he was forced to kill the only friend he ever had. He's suffered years of mental and physical abuse and still was able to rise above it. Yeah, sure, when later in the book something happens that makes him snap for a short duration, his sanity might be momentarily debatable... But under those particular circumstances, who's wouldn't be? I love Malkom. He's a wonderful blend of tortured soul and innocence.

What about Robert Petkoff’s performance did you like?

Seriously, Robert Petkoff needs to win some kind of narrating award. He is freakishly talented. The longer I listen to these audiobooks, the more I come to terms with how I've undergone the Pavlov effect. When the book begins and I first hear his voice, I shiver with anticipation for all the naughty scenes to come. But it's not even just those scenes. His range of accents and multiple voices is impressive. Which really works out considering the vast characters that keep being added to this series.
