Publisher's summary

From Liliana Hart's New York Times best-selling MacKenzie family comes a new story by New York Times best-selling author Cristin Harber....

When Luke Brenner takes an off-the-books job on the MacKenzie-Delta joint task force, he has one goal: shut down sex traffickers on his personal hunt for retribution. This operation brings him closer than he's ever been to avenge his first love, who was taken, sold, and likely dead.

Madeleine Mercier is the daughter of an infamous cartel conglomerate. Their family bleeds money, they sell pleasure, they sell people. She knows no other life, sees no escape, except for one. Maddy is the only person who can take down Papa when every branch of law enforcement in every country is on her father's payroll.

It's evil. To want to ruin, to murder her family. But that's what she is. Ruined for a life outside of destroying her father. She can't feel arousal. Has never been kissed. Never felt anything other than disgust for the world that she perpetuates. Until she clashes with a possible mercenary who gives her hope.

The hunter versus the virgin. The predator and his prey. When forced together, can enemies resist the urge to run away or destroy one another?

Great Story

As with all Cristin Harber novels, this story had a great plot. Excellent action and a hot romance. Only draw back is that is too short.

Delta Rescue

Great start to a new MacKenzie family series (I hope) I do enjoy getting a glimpse of favorite characters from previous books. Cade runs the op Luke is sent on. Perfect for him. Another human trafficker. He has never given up his hatred of the criminals who took his first love from him many years before. Didn't matter if these were the same or just in the same nasty business. They did the deed, he was going after them.
This time one of the victims captured his attention.
This is action packed, hot as S. Miami in the summer, great narration, and story line. A deal and great listen.

A great listen

What did you love best about Delta: Rescue?

I loved the chemistry between the main characters and the enemies to lover's storyline.

What other book might you compare Delta: Rescue to and why?

If you've listened to the other Delta books by Cristin Harber, then you'll definitely want to grab this one.

Which character – as performed by Jeffrey Kafer – was your favorite?

Maddy was probably my favourite character, she was different; strong but vulnerable, educated but lacking experience. I loved her attitude and most of the scenes with Luke stood out, but especially the scene in her office – that chemistry they were trying hard to deny, was perfectly performed, you could feel the tension.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, absolutely. At just shy of 3 hours it is easily listened to in one sitting, which is handy, as once I started, I didn't want to stop.

Any additional comments?

Jeffrey Kafer is perfect for this book, you’ll recognise his voice if you’ve listened to any of Cristin’s other audiobooks, yet he still manages to make each book and each character sound unique. His performance really brings these characters and this story to life in your mind as you’re listening. Sit back, relax and let Kafer entertain you for 3 hours, you won’t be disappointed.

Delta Rescue Delivers

My intro to the writing of Cristin Harber and narration of Jeffrey Kafer was very enjoyable and satisfying.
I Often find novellas lacking in substance, not so with Delta Rescue! Ms. Harber’s writing grabs you at the start and keeps you with a fascinating plot and great character development in a short amount of time. I dare say I find her writing style stellar!
Jeffrey Kafer’s style of narration combined with his strong, sexy voice was truly a treat! With his tantalizingly masculine voice, it was a wonderful surprise to hear how well he portrayed the female characters.
I’m eagerly looking forward to exploring more from these amazing artists!

Delta: Rescue

Jeffery Kafer is terrible at accents & speaks in a monotonous rhythm. The story is too similar to Javier’s story, what there is of it. Too much sex for me. Most Cristin Harber stories are filled with sex, but usually the story is complex enough to balance it out.

skip this one

you are not missing an important Delta book with this one not in KU. this plot cannot be done in 100 pages and it shows.
I enjoyed Luke and Maddie better in the other Delta books than their own story.

Too short and too much unanswered

Very short- more like an outline with a few scenes and a very rushed ending and epilogue. Since Luke and Javier are so similar it would have been interesting to see some interaction in an epilogue with Sophia and Madeleine. Also how would she not be a Target after the sting? What happens to her bodyguard?

Sweet drug princess meets UFC soldier

“Sweet” doesn’t usually describe C Harber’s Delta or Titan series; generally these books are all action and alpha males, fighting and funning equally rough and tumble. But this was a sweet tale of a virgin getting respectful, sweet romance from a strong ultimate fighter and soldier.
Here, Maddie, daughter of a drug/human trafficking kingpin meets Luke, of the Delta team and working with the DEA to shut them down. As Maddie tries to subvert her father’s organization from within, she is drawn to Luke. And she’s a virgin, which makes for sparse, slow and gentle nooky. As someone whose favorite nooky scenes were the Sugar/Jared rambunctious tangles in Westin’s Chase, this book was only okay.
For a novella, however, it’s fine to be short and sweet. And Kafer’s narration in sexy as always... love that alpha male gravelly voice.
