Airport Ranger volunteer Stacy Broussard expected a peaceful Saturday morning ride around the perimeter of Houston's airport. What she encounters instead is a brutal homicide and a baffling mystery. Next to the body is an injured dog, the dead man's motorcycle, and a drone armed with a laser capable of taking down a 747.

Though FBI Special Agent Alex LeBlanc sees a clear-cut case of terrorism, his past has taught him to be suspicious of everyone, even witnesses. Even bleeding-heart veterinarians like Stacy. But when her gruesome discovery is only the first in a string of incidences that throw her life into a tailspin, Alex begins to wonder if Stacy was targeted. As a health emergency endangers Stacy's community, and the task force pulls in leads from all directions, Alex and Stacy must work together to prevent another deadly encounter.

This was a very well thought out and intricate plot. I kept getting more and more invested. Every time I thought I knew where it was headed, a curve ball was thrown in. The way that DiAnn covered each character and each new reveal was intense and made you feel deeply. The plot is intense and I believe rings truth about modern day terrorism and bio warfare. I kept thinking things would be resolved and then a new wrench was thrown in.

Well written and I believe I will be rereading/listening to this story. I added more of DiAnn’s books to my list about 1.5 hours into listening. She has a way of jumping between characters and linking the plot that draws you in.

The talk about Christ and God being the ultimate Father and never being too far away to talk to Him is a great reminder to come to Him every hour regardless of need.

Waited with bated breath!

Too many religious undertones for me to finish the book. Otherwise the few chapters I listened to were good.

The plot was interesting and the characters were engaging for the most part. The biggest issue I had was with Whit. I liked Whit's character, but the author really needed to adjust his age. 12 was just too implausible for his character and the plot really didn't necessitate that he be that young.

Other then that one problem, the book was a great listen.

Good with just a few issues
