Before The Immortal Rules, there was Red Lung, a relentless virus determined to take out all in its path. For Kylie, the miracle of her survival is also her burden - as a doctor at one of the clinics for the infected, she is forced to witness endless suffering. What's worse, strange things are happening to the remains of the dead, and by the time she befriends Ben Archer, she's beginning to wonder if a global pandemic is the least of her problems....

After listening to Immortal Rules which was an absolutely awesome listen, I had to go back and get this prequel to the story. Dawn of Eden laid a good foundation to the story. If you like stories involving vampires coupled with the intense fight to prevent human extinction and all told by a really good narrator, this audiobook is a gem.
I am so glad I read this one last. It was a great way to wrap up this series. I have seriously LOVED this series. I will NEVER get tired of vampire stories and this one is one of the best I have read in a long time. Author Julie Kagawa did a fantastic job of writing this whole series. She never skipped a beat at all. The series never seemed rushed and it flowed so perfectly. There were so many emotions throughout the whole series. I won't lie because at one point I was ready to not like Julie anymore (you will know what part)!!! Thank you Julie for sharing this world with me. I love love love it!!!!!!!!!!
Narrator Therese Plummer..YOU DID FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC!!!!!!!!
I wasn't sure what to expect listening to this after the blood of Eden trilogy. I loved it I thought that it explained what happened in the beginning very nicely and the characters were great.
all her stories seem to be developed around weird creatures. Dragons, zombies, vampires etc...
i read talon by Kagawa and really liked it, so decided to give this book a try. Though, story was on shorter end, it was good. she is obviously really good writer - the way she developed and described everything; i might have a nightmares tonight...
"My test of a good book is dreading to begin the last chapter." - Thomas Helm
Firstly, Julie Kagawa, I'm a fan. I love that this series is about the frightening vampires I grew up with. Though there are humorous parts, this book is intense.
Again, no glittering, cuddling vampires here. It's pretty vicious at times. A great dystopian story.
This came after the original trilogy, Blood of Eden. It's not something you must read in order to start the trilogy but it's a fun read and worth your time.
Fantasy & Sci-Fi lover who mostly refuses to read books without their audiobook counterparts. How else can a girl get any housework done?
At the top, along with the rest of the BLOOD OF EDEN series.
I loved getting a first hand account of the world right after the Red Lung disease wipes out much of humanity & the beginnings of rabidism and the spread of the virus. I also enjoyed Ben & Kylie's relationship, along with the seemingly irreparable father-son relationship between Ben & his dad.
Then here are so many for such a short book, but I think the part when Ben's stubborn dad doesn't listen to Ben & Kylie and disaster ensues was the best part of the book.
"Red Lung Disease & Rabidism: When S@#$ Hits the Fan!"
This was a well-written, well preformed to prequel and I really enjoyed the insight of how both diseases began to destroy Earth as we know it. I wish it had been longer and I would suggest outright purchasing the audiobook instead of spending a whole credit on it. It cost less than $4 and it was well worth every penny. Highly recommended!
For as much as I read and listen you would think by now that I would know how to spell lol. I read at least 5 books a week there are times I have gotten up to 10 in a week.
This was a great intro into a whole new world by a new writer ( for me) ! So far I have read 3 in this series and I think they are must reads! Yes it is a vampire book but yet a dystopian novel and nothing like twilight! The action, the passion, its just WOW!
I thank you Julie for giving the "The Immortal Rules," book a beginning! Dawn of Eden answered all my questions that were not answered in book first book. I really enjoyed reading it, oops, listening to it. It could have been a litttttle bit longer, :-)
Can't wait for the 4th to come out.
