Publisher's summary

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts comes a trilogy about the land we’re drawn to, the family we learn to cherish, and the people we long to love...

Book One of The Cousins O’Dwyer Trilogy

Dark Witch

With indifferent parents, Iona Sheehan grew up craving devotion and acceptance. From her maternal grandmother, she learned where to find both: a land of lush forests, dazzling lakes, and centuries-old legends.

Ireland. County Mayo, to be exact. Where her ancestors’ blood and magic have flowed through generations - and where her destiny awaits.

Iona arrives in Ireland with nothing but her Nan’s directions, an unfailingly optimistic attitude, and an innate talent with horses. Not far from the luxurious castle where she is spending a week, she finds her cousins, Branna and Connor O’Dwyer. And since family is family, they invite her into their home and their lives. When Iona lands a job at the local stables, she meets the owner, Boyle McGrath. Cowboy, pirate, wild tribal horsemen, he’s three of her biggest fantasy weaknesses all in one big, bold package.

Iona realizes that here she can make a home for herself - and live her life as she wants, even if that means falling head over heels for Boyle. But nothing is as it seems. An ancient evil has wound its way around Iona’s family tree and must be defeated. Family and friends will fight with each other and for each other to keep the promise of hope - and love - alive...

Good story ruined by endless meaningless dialog

as the title states it's my opinion. If I wanted a romance novel I would get one . What is the basis of a great book was ruined for me. I definitely would not take Book 2 if offered.

Words. I have none.

If I had only read this book it would not have been epic. Listening to Katherine Kellgren made this book worm it’s way into my brain and my sense of magic. The performance took Nora Roberts story and created a spell of love, friends and valor. Truly brilliant.

Best Narrator I have ever listen too!

I loved this book but the narrator did an amazing job. She had me dragged into the book world and even brought tears to my eyes in one part of the story. I can say I've never had such a good narrator. if you are on the edge about getting this book do yourself a favor and get it ! you will not regret the purchase!

Not again.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I had to be in the car anyway...

Would you be willing to try another book from Nora Roberts? Why or why not?

I have enjoyed several of the series narrators, especially The Bride Quartet stories, JD Robb stories, and the Boonsboro trilogy. So, yes I will try other books, but I will probably steer clear of this predictable, poorly narrated series.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I really enjoyed her narration of the main character, but all of the other women sounded like they were 70 years old. I cannot imagine them as the main love interest in any other stories.

is there a three year old reading this?

the story is good and could really go places but the reader is awful. I feel like a three year old is reading this. to much emotion, too much energy for me.
